does anyone happen to know what Perry McCarthy is doing at the moment?  I cant find any LM references to him after 2003, when he didnt even get to drive the Audi.

True, it would be nice to see him behind the wheel of a sportscar at LM again.

It would have been good to see him behind the wheel of the Audi UK car in 2003 if some idiot hadn't run out of fuel!!!!  Angry Shocked Roll Eyes

He pissed himself laughing a couple of years ago when we stood in front of on the parade wearing T shirts with the Andrea Moda logo and "We remember the coalmen" across the front. Maybe that's why he hasn't come back since!!!

We managed to bump into Pel in the Bentley area after the race in 03, he seemed remarkably chipper for someone who didn't even sit in the car during the race & he was remarkably restrained when asked about the "Biela moment"

Would be nice to see him back at LM, shame he didn't have a deal with Audi or he'd be racing in the DTM by now!! He lives around Chelmsford somewhere but I never saw him down the chip shop Wink

He is always chipper...but i think that some of his after dinner stories about sod the car and go for glory hurt his sponsorship hopes...I supose the cost of saying the right things but not politcally correct.....
All I know about the new stig is that a couple of years ago Top gear were racing a car in the 24 hour 2cv race and one of the drivers was going to be the stig, but due to the fact that we would all be racing him he was replaced by darren turner so thats a good guess....

I wondered if I was alone in thinking that Perry McCarthy is a bit of a whinging tosser.
Surely if he was up to snuff, someone would have signed him and retained him.
Writing a book about his hard luck story is a bit lame, in my opinion.
Get over it Perry, you're not good enough for the higher echelon of motorsport - find a new job and stop whining about the one you haven't got. Jesus.

Bit harsh mate. He's had some bad breaks (and brakes) in his time.

I have to say you are one of the very few people I know from whom I would take that kind of comment. For example, people should know that you've been prevented by work, for the first time in many a year, from attending this year's race. I have not heard so much as one gripe or moan from you. If I were in your shoes I would be bitching like an Naples fishwife and dishing out Commerly curses on all and sundry. But you seem to take it on the chin with great forebearance. It says a lot about your strength of character and stoicism Matt and I hope you manage to enjoy your weekend in some small way from the comfort of your armchair.

Obviously me, JPC, Steve B etc will be giving thanks to God that you have  missed out this time you miserable fat tw-at. It won't be the same without you; it'll be miles better. Enjoy, cos we will.
