I understand that there are a couple of good eating houses on the trackside at Mulsanne. I think that one of these is a Chinky. Anyone been to any of these and whats it like and how do you book.

Yes there are two Resturants.  I've only eaten in the Chinky.   It was a few yers ago now bu thte food was fine.   I didn't even book when I went but it wasn't during the Race.  I guess you could ring and book a table before leaving the UK.
but you can alway just go along and bok in person.

I've also eaten in the Place just before the Kink (After the second Chicane)
but these days it's just for Hospitality.

I can confirm that the Chinky is excellent! (Well most food after that much beer is  Wink)

We go there every year on Saturday night and have booked in advance as it does get busy. We are normally there on the Friday ~midday for a beer to - have a beer!

During the race, it is now not as good a viewing point as it was, since they put fencing up on the barrier and it is difficult to see through. The sound is great as the cars slow just after the chinky for the new kinks in the Mulsanne (was) straight.

We book quite early by 'phoning. I think it is called 'Chinois des 24 Heures' or 'Restaurant Chang Hi Le 24heures' and is next door to 'Restaurant Des 24 Heures' or 'Restaurant des Hunandieres'

Good luck and I hope we see you there Friday luch time. We normally have a bit of fun... and some beer  Grin

I'll pick up a card and 'phone number on Sunday 14/3/4 and post later if someone hasn't posted the same before  Wink

the more important question is how do you get to the restaurants, my recollection is that it is across small lanes and a field?

don't take afence front gate will do.  there is a IGN map on this this forum which shows paths, roads etc which give a good guide.  You may wish to do a dry run over the practice weekend or on wednesday or thursday of race week.  Wednesday evening is a great time to eat in the restaurants.
