Title: So it was JK
Post by: Big Lad on April 27, 2004, 04:22:43 pm
Last year late Friday afternoon was spent in the finest of LM traditions of putting the world to rights whilst sat drinking at karting Nord.

There then followed a heated argument whether it was Jamiroquai warming up at the Audi stage.  Despite being shouted down by our group I said I would prove them wrong in due course.

Two hours later who should drive past past our tents on his quad bike but JK himslef.  I shout "JK- do you want a beer" and he stops, says yes, gets off his bike, walks over to us and spends the next the 30 mins chatting about cars.

PS - contrary to his image portrayed in the papers he was a top bloke and committed petrol head

Nice one. Thats the great thing about Le Mans. Everyone is so friendly. Couldn't see that happening at F1.

I think it's a total disgrace that he was staying somewhere posh no doubt, yet he still couldn't be bothered to shave before going out in the morning. That would never happen with S Club 7.

Does this mean that he will be performing at the main event again?

Yeah - he said it was a real bummer staying in some posh chateau courtesy of Audi as it meant that he was surrounded by the Audi girls.  I think the girls were a little under the weather as he told us he was going to give them a good seeing to :D.

Apparently he would much rather have stayed on the campsite surrounded be thousands of sweaty drunk blokes :D

His "gift" from Audi for doing the concert was an RS6 in a one off colour (purplish IIRC).

He was even up for us taking a pi55 take shot of my mates "Colvin 911 replica" (actually a stunning 1972 911 )

I knew he got the car as someone else on the forum saw him collecting it in London last uear after the race, but I didn't realise that's all he got. I'd assumed he got a fair old wedge as well.

It was good to meet the three of you on Saturday. Hopefully meet up for a beer again in June!!  :)

They weren't my pics. Someone at the Dutch formula one forum mailed them to me. According to him it was at the FoS'04, on the campingsite behind the Formula One Paddock.
Apparently JK said "Before I had this car I used to live in a house..."  ;D

Myself was at the FoS in '03. Will definitely do it again, but it's too close to the LM-weekend. I've run out of money by the end of of the 24 hours :-\
