It was just emailed to me? Must be because I am just a plain ACO member not a Collectors Edition "I have more money than sense" Member. (Waiting for comeback :-X)

I am that is why dad paid the membership for the basic cover this year! Talk about adapting what I wrote, nearly as bad as smokies edit from Fran on the S**ring thread! :o

To be honest, I'm more interested in the '07 LMS dates.

And I'm an ACO member too, but never received any mail from them :-\

Surely the ACO consult DfH before setting the dates ;D

Last thing I heard was "I have a good chance" on MB-tickets for '07, even though ordered back in March this year! :o

Is anyone compiling the 2007 dates for European racing events that might be of interest, including Classic racing etc. Nurburgring Spa etc.

Just wondered if someone had more time on their habds than I do.

I want to vary my races next year but not sure what to do after SEBRING.

Perhaps Pieter has a list as he prob goes to more than most, or even Termie.

A dated list with a couple of comments would prob be handy for everyone.

Thanks

Happy to do this - think maybe we should post these seperately and (relatively) chat-free?  Will keep an eye on the appropriate websites.  Let me know of any other races/series you want me to look out for.  Any clever b*ggers with a calendar-type programme we could use?

There is now a little button up at the top RHS between Profile and Logout.

Please only add events relevant to motor racing and this forum.

The calendar button is on the top right hand side of your screen.  Getting it in a topic is another matter... Computer flies out of window.

Interesting, the 'Add Birthdays' button is unchecked in the Settings - but they were still added  ???

I've added the DfH Rotterdam meet and the Jersey meet to the calendar.
There should also be a new 'Upcoming Events' box in the Info Centre on the forum front page.  It's currently showing the DfH meet as a link to that post.

How you getting on Deb?

I have got this to work in test form.  However, it seems that every event I post is going to appear as a seperate post, could get very dull as I already have 40 or so meetings to post.  Bear with me folks.

Not sure everyone will want their birthdays to be common knowledge. Mine isn't there for some reason.

It's quite usual to pilot this kind of thing before going live ya know!

(I've checked - the birthdays option is definitely off - I tried changing the colour but that didn't help as I can't find out what the background colour os - maybe a server reboot will remvoe them)

Your date of birth is probably not set in your profile.  Mine wasn't earlier, and my birthday didn't appear either.  So if anyone doesn't want their birthday to show, simply zero out the date of birth in your profile.

or just change the year?  I saw yours earlier Del, it was set to Jan 13th and said you would be 62?

That's correct, Peter (in Jan).  Initially my B'day didn't show, and like Smokie, wondered why, and eventually found out.  Meant to delete the DoB again, but couldn't be bothered.  I don't have a problem with being the oldest member currently listed, apart from Brian (Liverpool Boys) - I don't believe he will be 102 next birthday!!

I do have an issue with birth dates as some of the professional bodies i belong to it is part of the logging on process.  so all sorts of mayhem could be caused!

The current version of this forum software (SMF 1.1) has an option to turn birthdays off at admin level.

We're using SMF 1.0.7, which requires a modification to coding at server level.

If this is just a calender of events do we need a reply feature on it ?

We have been known to wander off topic occasionally and  IMHO this would be detremental to  the usefullness of the calender of the events list. There is plenty of room to discuss individual races etc on the open forum.

Just a thought

Maybe I'm being oversensitive but IMO we should turn the calendar off, as there may be many legitimate reasons (other than vanity) why members don't want their birthdays made public.

It's all very well saying preople can remove them from their profiles but most of our membership hasn't logged on for months.

Steve, we should see if Lennarts can upgrade to the later version...

For those that have added their birth date to their profile info - this info is easily accessible by anyone viewing that users profile.

For those that have added their email address to their profile info - this info is easily accessible by anyone viewing that users profile.

For those that have added their gender to their profile info - this info is easily accessible by anyone viewing that users profile.

For those that have added their location to their profile info - this info is easily accessible by anyone viewing that users profile.

For those that have added their website to their profile info - this info is easily accessible by anyone viewing that users profile.

For those that have added their language to their profile info - this info is easily accessible by anyone viewing that users profile.

etc.

Perhaps we should turn 'view profiles' off.
