The Smart Diablo runs in a super tuned Suziki Hayabusa 1260hp, and does 0-60mph in 3 sec , thats faster than the bike because it is 80 kg lighter then the bike, the car weighs less than 600 kg!

or from youtube

"youst for fans , a smart diablo runs in a super tunned hayabusa susuki powerfull 1200hp + 60 hp of the tunned aregement , and makes not two 60mph or 100kmh in 3 sec , thats faster than the bike becouse if you are under the 80 kg you and the car weight less than 600 klg so is litter than the bike and a 1260 hp tunned engen moves that really faster"

I think it's something to do with power to weight ratios - is that what this means?

I think I may give this one a miss - my nearest is in Stranraer - a mere 30 min drive and 2 hour ferry crossing away...

Isnt Fiat connected to Ferrari in some way?  I guess he is keeping a finger in the pie, so to speak.

F

Fran,

Spot on - the Ferrari company has been owned by Fiat since 1969, so I guess he is still on the payroll....

MG Mark

And therefore Fiat has to appear on the nose of all Ferrari F1 cars as the manufacturers name...

64  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Need a lift to Le Mans this year.... on: March 25, 2007, 08:46:24 pm
Wow guys - top effort!  Smiley

James, I'd love to help out but am coming from Ireland, so may be a wee bit out of the way for the journey!

However, I'm on my own on Camping Bleu this year (except for the few thousand others there, obviously), so if you need some tent-space, let me know.  Looking at this thread though, I doubt this will be a problem!

See you at LM, and welcome to Club Arnage!

Patrick.

Awesome work guys...  Cool

My best effort:

Got resized a bit when I uploaded it to photobucket.  It's actually flippin huge!

Isn't it weird how fast the planet actually revolves - even on a relatively short 5 second exposure there's still a lot of bluriness and on the full size picture the stars are really "streaky".  I'm pretty sure the camera/tripod was solid as a rock.

You on commission Rich?   Grin

Exactly, Rhino.  As long as there's people in a theatre of war, the wrong ones will get killed (assuming there are "right" ones in the first place).  If the tables had been turned and we had been providing air cover for US forces and such an accident had occurred, you can guarantee that there would be an equal amount of shock/outrage/finger-pointing then, as is going on now.

All we can hope to recover from what's happened is that, as Fax says above, people on all sides will hopefully learn from their mistakes, and procedures will be improved to reduce the risk of this happening again.

Dunno about the comment regarding RAF accuracy though Fax... giving the hornets nest one more poke with a stick there?

Phew!  Smiley

(Thought closing date was the 16th, or did you move it? The thread's getting a bit long and tangled to follow now!)

Hi,

Can I order the following?

  1 XL White t-shirt at 15euros,
1 XL Polo shirt at 30euros
  Postage at 11euros

Incuding Paypal fees for using the credit card of 2.26euros (I think... Huh) that should be a total of 58.26euros which is winging its way to you now.  Smiley

I will PM my delivery details, but I included them on the Paypal payment anyway.

Thanks.

Patrick.

If you put an Apache gunship, an F1-car and a Sentinel machine from the Matrix in room with a comfy bed and some Barry White on the stereo, this would be the result.

Found this one by chance - aside from the clip of Alain de Cadenet nearly being taken out by Ray Hanna in a Spitfire, here's one of the best ever Spitfire clips, the one of Ray Hanna flying under the river bridge for the "Piece of Cake" TV series in the late 80s.

http://www.youtube.com/watch_fullscreen?video_id=_OF0v1dwYC8&l=181&t=OEgsToPDskLJy5IAYSy0Z1JNsV4CCVmP&fs=1&title=Spitfire%20Under%20Bridge

No models used.  No trick cutting or editing.  No computer simulation.  Just a real, full-size Spitfire pulled along by a lovely Merlin, and flown about as low as you can get without hitting the river, through the arch of a rather narrow bridge.  Enjoy.

MG Mark

Every time I hear a see and hear a Spitfire like that it brings tears to my eyes.  I can't explain why, it just does.  I think it's a combination of the noise, the gracefulness and sheer beauty of them, and I suppose their history.  I'm only 35 now, so it's not that I'm reminiscing over times gone by.  It just happens.  I just watched that clip about a dozen times, and am sitting here blubbering like a fool.  God, to fly one must be awesome...  Cool

Love the Alan de Cadanet clip too...  Grin

Have a cracking day, both of you.  Smiley

BTW Piglet, you were the first CA-er I met face to face at last years race (on the banking next to MB), and within seconds you'd produced a cold beer for me from somewhere.  Top work!
