Typical Hampshire Constablary; always got to go one better, Volvo's indeed.

Didn't they used to run plain 5 Series?

Yes, just outside Wokingham, judging by the posts elsewhere.
933  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Free Camping on: May 27, 2004, 02:45:11 pm
Maybe we should post it on "so you think you know about Le Mans" ?
934  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Unmarked rozzers on M4 on: May 27, 2004, 02:37:59 pm
I do quite alot of M4 driving early AM.
Saw an unmarked Omega '52' plate, burgandy today.
Quite sneeky, getting tucked in in front of HGV's, waiting for the guided missiles to come by.
Keep a look out on your travels to those early ferries.

If you're still struggling to get sorted for somewhere to pitch that tent, pick up a copy of the new edition of EVO.
There is a competition in there run by Audi.
GA tickets Grin, hospitality over the pit Grin, Friday access to pits and meet the drivers Huh, camping on the Audi complex Shocked.
Winner advised 6th June, all you have to do is get yourself there, oh, and win the competition.

"The question" I hear you ask is.............

"which country is the Le Mans car race held in?"

Hmmm.......

Thanks chaps, for putting down the sentiments I was thinking.

Maybe a closer look is required.

Your last question , "Campsite" posted on 24/05 has 2 replies.

Enough said I think.

I think your best bet is stopping off at Rouen on the way home.
As with most port towns, there are all manner of temptations of the flesh to tempt the usually righteous Le Mans'er.
I seem to recall most of the action being centred around a car park just outside the town centre. So I'm told.

Pretty sure that it's there again. Mind you, no pass, no get in (with a car).
You might have to park the car elsewhere and walk in with your stuff.

Superb pictures - thanks.

I didn't get to see any of the coverage as I was performing decorating duties against my will. However, I spoke to my sister in law who was working for Veloqx at Monza. She said the weather was truly awful toward the end of the race; torrential rain. By looking at most of the photos, you wouldn't know it.
Apparently, Johnny wouldn't pit to put on wets and finished the race on slicks.

Nice to see that us Brits can show something for all that practice in the rain !

She said that the feeling in the team is very good and they have their eyes firmly fixed on a 1-2 finish.

If you've still got them, I'll take them off your hands.
Let me know.

Don't know about in and around Le Mans, but if you're on the way back up to the ports, stop in at Rouen.
We always spend the Sunday night there.
There is an Irish Bar, right in the middle of town. Plenty of out door seating in the square and several TV's to watch the game inside.

944  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:If you didn't go to Le Mans..... on: April 06, 2004, 10:21:50 am
It's a foregone conclusion.

You know that you have to book this time off. My wife expects me to be there, my friends expect me to be there.

Many of our group don't see each other from one June to the next. You just know that you have to be at Newhaven, on the Thursday before, for a 07.30 sailing.

Like I said, foregone conclusion.

Take a look at the vinyl lettering on th bonnet. Oh, how we used to do things; and thought they looked good.
These are the same self adhesive letters that you can buy at your local hardware shop.

I could never get them to stay on long enough to get round the next corner - I'm sure that these were put on for the picture.

Pure quality.
