Anyone on the way back to Cherbourg looking for a camping stopover on Sunday night?? Last year we happened on a site just outside Bayeux - our usual site in Caen was closed. 8 of us, 1 trailer tent, 1 caravan, dinner on Sunday + breakfast on Monday, and all the booze we could drink (we we totally ratarsed by 10.00 pm, and again at 10.00am), all for the grand sum of 15 euros per head!

The place I am talking about is an old manor house that has Gites,
apartments as well as the camp site. As I suggested, we we totally ratarsed
last year, and so was the proprietor, so little chance of being thrown out.
It's at a little village called Martragny, 8 km on the Caen side of the N13,
on the road to another village called Creully. The proprietors are Yvette &
Maurice Godfroy, Manoir de l'Abbey, 15 Rue de Cruelly, 14740 Martragny. Tel
02 31 80 25 95, e-mail maurette@multimedia.com. They have a web site at
www.multimedia.com/maurette which will give you all the details. We, a
party of 9 this year, would welcome any other LeManners for the night.
Let me know if you are coming, details etc - we could have a real ball!! ;D ;D
