Was the Shuttle too much expensive that you always use ferries and not the tunnel?

I was quoted £605 to take a motorhome from Portmouth to LeHarve.
But only £268 from Portsmouth to Cherbourg...... Huh Huh Huh
Both are wednesday night crossings

You can guess which one i'm on  Cheesy

Only used the shuttle twice and got badly delayed both times, not the magic it's advertised as, in my experience.

All IMHO...

I suspect those booked on the overnight crossing get first refusal  Smiley

I also don't think they can refuse haulage as a lot of it would be perishable and they do make a lot of money that way and wouldn't want to p1$$ them off.

I also think when the BF girl said that "they'd fit them on some how" she was giving it the standard spiel unaware just how full the others would be and hence talking out of some other hole.

Hopefully everything will be running fine and we'll all get across. See you there PM & CP.

Mark - I hope if it's raining ( v.likely Sad ) at Pompei like last year the nice BF folk wave me straight on  Smiley

Nice pic  Grin
I think the prices also change a lot depending on the operator. BF is more expensive than P&O (for some reason...) Huh

Im in a 50/50 on the seacat weds.
I agree with Barry, as i am on a bike, they can make room in a motorhome or caravan to get me there.
bloody ferry co's have us over a barrel already. £120 - £180 for a motorbike.  3rd price of motorhome PM!!
I'm revved up now!!

If it helps - the port of St Malo seems unaffected  by this stirke action - Doesn't a Brittany Ferries overnighter leave from Portsmouth to St Malo?

We leave Wednesday, all-be-it from Jersey to St Malo, and I've just checked with our ferry company and they are sailing happy as Larry today and tomorrow!   Cheesy  This info incase a plan C needs to be looked into   Wink  Best of luck any way!!

Spoken to Brittany ferries and they said that at the moment all ferries were still running tomorrow.I asked ,if the day ferry was cancelled, what would happen to the night passengers. They told me that whichever ferry you are booked on will be the one you go on.If your ferry is cancelled, then they will offer a refund or try to find you another crossing, but those booked on the next ferry after the cancelled one will take preference.
Hope this helps
