46  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Club Arnage Guide – it’s time to say good-bye! on: June 21, 2016, 09:04:59 pm
Werner,

I'm not sure that I can begin to fully appreciate the amount of work and dedication that has goes into The Guide each year, but I know that it is very high.

I'm sure that you know from what I have written on this forum that I hold The  Guide in the highest regard.

I have strong views about what it is and where it goes. Let us have a separate topic on what we do next.

In terms of raising charity funds, although I am keen to see money raised, as I see it CA exists for the people first and foremost.

For me, I am pleased to be associated with Club Arnage and the guide that it produces that brings me so much pleasure to read and use.

K,

Great write up. Who would have seen this one.

My heart goes out to Toyota.

I can't remember who said it, but whoever it was said Sports Car racing is a blood sport.  The result today showed it to be absolutely true.

Although already used, I'd like to swap the 2016 LMP1 result for one where Toyota won.

I would like to reverse out the high emotion that I am feeling

Please drop me a line of where I can meet you and your time machine.

If you have the ability to move to a different dimension, I would be up for it if it included one where the ACO didn't attempt to pander to manufacturers who wanted a 1,2,3 finish to mark their anniversary.

I'm not asking money for this swap btw.

Guys,

If you are watching, and want that authentic LM experience, I recommend that you periodically step fully clothed into the shower.

Tristan and I are at Arnage sitting in the banking at the start of the qualifying session (waiting for the rain).

I think that Dettore suggested that this will be the place to come and I cannot agree more.

You can see the cars coming from Mulsanne and then through the Indonapolis corners.

On the Mulsanne end banking you do not really need ear protection and the sound through and off the trees is to be relished.

I strongly recommend a trip out here over the weekend.

Sorry to say on Sunday i reviewed the forecasts and took the easy option and am currently sitting in Egypt where it is dark and 38 degrees. No rain forecast.  :-)

Is that on the WEC calendar?

And we have a warm beer with your name on it!

Jim,

Sorry, I'll watch this one and then decide if it's worthwhile coming back first.

Pompy Caen left at 1:30 am instead of 11:45 (I think)

Kev,

I booked a one time trip with RAC for £70 for the week, but Direct Line offered Green Flag UK and European for the next six months for £110 (I think).

K,
