Dear Sebringers

As you may or may not be aware (and even if you are aware it has become apparent that you don't care), not everyone on this site is lucky enough to be able to jet off to Florida for a couple of weeks of festivities and motor racing.

In order to prevent further depression of otherwise happy-go-lucky individuals (myself and Piglet to name two!) please would you keep your Sebring comments to this thread alone and leave all of the other threads 'boast' free.

YOU BUNCH OF HEARTLESS BASTARDS  Grin Grin Grin

Thirded and thank you!!

It's not quite as bad as last year when Keith went to Sebring and I had to stay home.  Oh how I laughed when he rang me from the side of the track so that I could hear the car noises  Roll Eyes

I'm still trying to work out how to get my employer to pay me more and to recognise that 40 days holiday a year should be standard!

A little more good Sebring news.  Twice Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais and Bruno Junqueria will be joing the Multimac Panoz GT2 squad for Sebring.
This will be Bruno's first race back after his Indy 500 injuries, good to see Junky back!

Much better news than TV hearthrob and Tony George's co-moron being grand marshal.  Roll Eyes

Agreed Chop,
Wouldn't be a race without some celebrity poser rolled out.  Christ! How many times have we watched jerk-offs like Michael Douglas or Matthew McConnaughey prance around on a starting grid thinking they're actually important.  My favorite was when that guy from Beverly Hills 20210 tried to knock down the cement walls at the Kentucky Speedway a few years ago during the Infinity Pro Series practice.  The moral of that is no talent actors have even less talent as drivers.

You lot in the USA can count yourselves lucky. You never had to tolerate the likes of pseudo-celebs like we did in the 80's. The Radio 1 DJ's Noel Edmonds and Mike Smith and also ex-Wham frontman Andrew Ridgeley were utterly vomit inducing.

The worst ordeal we ever have to experience is the Parade of Celebrities the morning of the Indy 500 every year.  I sh**t you not, this really happens as part of the pre-race ceremonies.  Its fricking hilarious, they dig up a bunch geezers who's career floundered thirty years ago and drive them around, perched on the back of the pace cars, hanging on for dear life.  The standard response when one of them goes past is "I thought he (or she) was dead?"

Did anyone mention the beads to the Sebring rookies?  Bring beads with you (it'll be self-explanitory when you get there, ever seen any Mardi Gras footage?)
Remember St. Patricks Day is on the Friday, last time it was on race day one needed green beads (and a hollow leg to hold all the Guinness).
Wohooo! Two Weeks to go!

Chop,
Good man with the Yuengling!  Great stuff from America's oldest brewery.  Personally love the Porter but may a bit heavy for being in the sun all day, lager is excellent too.  The beads are essential, especially around sunset when the girls have a afternoon full of beer in 'em.

OK I give up.  What's the thing with the beads?   Huh

I don't own any and funnily enough they weren't on my 'I must buy in my lifetime' list.
