As Mike Liverpool has stated a lot of people are giving Le Man a miss this year, so if you are one of those please add to this thread.

I am giving it a miss this year as it is always my Birthday while there, so am spending a Birthday with my family, then flying off for a bit of Menorcan sun.

The rest of The boys will be attending as usual and I am sure that I will miss the trip more than I think.

80% I won't be there. Mrs has been on at me for a few years about having a "together" holiday around that time and we just found a cruise - albeit early May, but with Sebring in March, time from work is becoming a bit of a premium. I'd like to also have some left for later in the year!!

The cruise isn't booked yet, and anyway I may drop by for a long weekend (probably early part!) if finances and holiday entitlements allow...

We're not going this year:

1.   it's become too much hassle to get a block of pitches on a decent site without using an agency.

2.   we're moving and building an extension so we've got lots to do.

3.  Leaving new puppy dog with Dad for 10 days is a bit too much so it'll be pup friendly camping trips for this year

Me too, sniff.....
I've, rather foolhardily if you ask me, accepted an invite to take part in a race that starts with swimming from Alcatraz Island to the mainland. It appears to get worse after that. Entries are quite hard to get, so turning it down would seem a little churlish.
I think it's an early start, so it'll probably be around kick off time at La Sarthe too. A Silk Cut Jaguar swim hat anyone?

PS Mark, any unguents left?

Me. I will not be there this year as my parents will be moving to france for 6months in May ( as the euro is so poor it wont be permanent! ) so my financial responsibility lie at home. I am how ever having a long ish weekend away back to the nurburgring in my friends car in April so i do get away this year.

I am disappointed i wont be there but i really dont see this year being good at all.

Cheers Brian. Its starting to look like Le Mans will have a different feel to it this year.

Those of us who are going will just have to make extra noise and drink extra beer for the absent CA'rs  Roll Eyes

You could hook in the Radio Le Mans commentary, if you conect a PC to the Hi Fi

Has anyone any idea who has the TV coverage this year?  I'm getting lazy/too drunk to walk, so a bit of TV for the practice and the middle of the night would be handy

After 11 years on the trot I've decided to have a year off for a change......plus with the ACO corporatizing everything .....it  seems to make the place less hospitable than it used to be Sad

I'll be up to my ears in work on the barn,  and taking time out will just put us further and further back.

Next year I'll probably do the classic, if the place is finished, and maybe Sebring in '10, if I behave....

So it's a no from me in '09

I think it's Eurosport again.  We got Eurosport OK in MB for the Classic with a mobile sat dish and a skybox.

Good call on the radio, LM wouldn't be LM without Hindy, might have to upgrade the wireless network to work in the garden  Grin
