Title: CA Camp at Bleu Nord is go!!!!
Post by: Robbo on November 30, 2009, 09:37:50 am
Received this yesterday from Andy@Team Langoustine:

Quote
Our allocation is through and we have been given the required Bleu Nord places.

I will put them all aside for CA members. 90 places in all. However, if all places are not taken up by 8th Jan 2010, I must allow the remainder to go on general sale.

These will not be available online and will have to be paid for by cheque or bank transfer. This is an effort to keep the prices down as Paypal charge 3%.

The price has been set at £68 per pitch.

Robbo, are you volenteering to corelate all the orders? If so put me down for 4 tickets. If not I will contact Andy directly.

Yippee!!! ;D

Camp C'Arnage Mk2

Andy at TL indicated he would be willing to handle the cash, but suggested someone from CA might like to allocate pitchs/distribute the tickets.

4 for us.

Gents and Ladies
Forgive me for not responding to all your emails straight away. They are all being dealt with, but I am away in Scotland at the moment.
As soon as I get back, I will make sure that all of your requested places are allocated.

It is probably worth me giving the pitch numbers to a nominated CA member or even giving the complete order to an individual and you can decide between you, who goes where.
We will handle the bookings individually. Which ever way suits you.
Also, what about allocating a couple of pitches just for your facilities, marquee etc These would have to be bought by the CA group, but once you decide where to put the marquee, it will make the rest easy.

I will be in touch in due course.

Regards
Andy

Sorry for being a bit slow off the mark with the orders we have received so far.
There is no problem and I have allocated places to all those that have been in touch accordingly.
The individual confirmations will be emailed later this week.

Thanks

I promised to send confirmations out today, but have a few issues to resolve. We may have a couple of bookings from non CA members.
If this is the case, they will be cancelled. If you have booked and you are members, then your places are secure. I will get back to you all when these issues are resolved. Bear with me.

No other plans as far as I'm aware. Probably, like me, they didn't order them direct with TL. I've been told it's full so far, pending the non-CA issue being resolved or more allocation obtained.

Panic Not!!!!!!!!!!!  :)

The Brethren have an order in place, and that covers the requirement of Team Zarse and The Melans as well!!

Rusty is skiing in Italy at the moment (together with Clive, Jim, Trayboy and Andy Zarse........god help Italy!!!) but I've confirmed with Andy at Team Langoustine that all is OK!!

Robspot, I've got you covered, as well as Vegas!

There do appear to be a couple of names in the list that none of us recognise. Does anyone have any idea who Chris Bauer or Kenn Korsarger are??

FYI, I have agreed with Andy at TL to help co-ordinate the allocation once we have the pitch numbers and (alleged) layout. There are several groups I know will want to be next to each other, and similarly there will be some who would prefer a quieter pitch so if anyone has any personal prefernce please do let me know!  :)

Chris Bauer I can vouch for as he is a member of my campsite group which includes several Club Arnage members.  He is contacting Andy with my my membership CA details as he is sorting out our camping tickets for our party as he has the money to pay for the tickets for our group right now, whereas I don't at the moment.

So nothing to worry about there people.  As for Ken Korsarger I can't help you there.

This is one of his posts a while back

HI

I am organising a trip to LM2010 for the Personal commity of my compagni and it seams we will be needing app. 25 laybys. Any idear where i can get that amount of places together without having to pay a massiv overprice?
Was thinking Houx or MB or Bleu

Any advice is welcome

Kenn

If everyone else is catered for then fair enough, otherwise I would say that longer standing members should have priority.

Title: Re: CA Camp at Bleu Nord is go!!!!
Post by: Robspot on December 14, 2009, 11:58:28 am
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the idea of the CA Camp was for everyone who knows each other to camp together in one big group  ???

Now Kenn and his company are probably very nice people but given that no-one has met him and he's ordered 20 tickets which is over 20% of the total allocation we have then I'm sure regular CAers would be disappointed if they were told there was no room left for them.

Of course I may be wrong. Club Arnage may now just a non-profit making cog in the great ticket allocation wheel whose only role is to make sure that Team Langoustine sell all of their allocation  >:D

It's all irrelevant really as Mark has sorted my allocation for me  ;) Hey, who knows, Kenny Korsarger might be the new Paddy Slabbekorn  ;D

I'm not in the CA/TL campsite (although we're on Bleu) but I agree with Robspot - it's a CA camp, not a cheap way to get onto BN.  How about first come first served but with a minimum no. of posts - say 100 - for at least one member of the party?   Then after a month if all the pitches aren't sold to regulars then open it up to newbies?

That is just about the most sensible thing ever suggested by a member of this forum.

Thats what I thought; a way of trying to make sure that everyone was en mass to spank liver and kidneys like never before! Me and the messy houx folk are sorted but if I am allowed to express a preference then I would rather see the usual suspects from the forum being given priority over others; if you can be arsed to post throughout the year (and in other years) then that should be recognised!

Hey, just my 2$

As I said - doesn't affect me at all but I'm not sure that I detected any squabbling, just a little surprise that the CA camp might not be what it says on the tin.  But as I won't be there, I don't care either way.
I'm sure everybody's really grateful to TL for their help, whatever.

I understand what you're saying Peter but with tha amount of lurkers that we have  how easy would it be for one of them to claim to be a long standing member of CA,take advantage of Andy's good will to us, buy up a mass of tickets and stick them on e-bay. It would be so easy to make a killing especially as Andy is not insisting that we buy overpriced GA's from him
I'm not suggesting for one minute that Kenn would do this but I think that there should be a modicum of policing to ensure that no-one takes advantage of TL and emmbarises CA

Hear, hear

Surely we can just limit the number of tickets any one person can purchase??
Some of us have put time & effort into getting this camp on BN via TL sorted and it would be a shame to see it fall apart!

Hi Guys,
I think it is time for me to write a little on this tread as well. As some of you already have figured out I am behind the “Kenn Korsager” booking. It has been quite interesting to follow the debate on the subject. I know that it can be a bit of an invasion if a large group of outsiders comes and wants in, but I really don’t feel that we would be that different from the rest of you. My group will be a group of colleges (app. 60) both Le Mans veterans and Le Mans virgins. As some of you have mentioned it could look like a way to get cheap access to BN to book via TL/CA. this has never been intended, but as you all know the ACO can be a pain in the a…. That’s the reason I contacted Andy at TL to see if he could help me out. He asked if I was I CA member, and according to the truth, answered that I was.
If I should have some extras, the plan has been to sell them via the “sell or swop” forum on this site, as I find those who want to profit on their tickets to be bastards.
As I hope this has spread some light on who my group and I am I hope you will remember that a stranger often is friend you haven’t meet yet. First round will be on us… :)

Have all the pitches been taken yet, may require 10, for our party of 30 from Belfast.

Thanks Mark, you put our minds at rest whilst we were skiing, the fact that we might not have any tickets nearly made us turn to the drink... ;)

Hi Guys,
I think it is time for me to write a little on this tread as well.

Yours Kenn Korsager

Kenn, thanks for your message and your honesty. To be fair that is a very large party and I'd say that you'd be less like guests and more like hosts as you'd be easily the largest group. 60 people is a huge number and inevitably you guys would dominate.

The original arrangement with TL was so that some regulars on this forum, who are all close friends (and their connected parties), could get a decent pitch. I understand what you are saying about LM friends just being people you haven't met yet but meeting your ticket requirement really isn't what the original allocation was designed for. I would be surprised if there are anything like enough tickets left for you.

Bloody ACO, they couldn't organise a shag in a brothel.

Good luck,

Andy

Time to think of a plan B........  ???

If someone who has been a member of CA since 2003, with over 600 posts, can't get tickets because 25% of the allocation have been taken by a relative newcomer, then somethings gone badly wrong somewhere. :(

Title: Re: CA Camp at Bleu Nord is go!!!!

With regard to being able to order the tickets from TL if go along with the premise of membership of CA, minimum number of posts etc, how does this stack with DfH and Werners team?  I'm sure there are crew members who never post on CA but they are included and deprive a CA member who meets the criteria from a chance of camping up in the CA Village.

Well, Peter, that would be the same for the brethren then and team JPC etc. etc. I am not offended in any way by your remark and do understand your point. However, the people from our group not posting on this forum are friends with almost everyone who does post here from all te various CA groups that do join in at Le Mans. Policing this issue would be very difficult!

I'm sure that Kenn and his pals are delightful and I hope to meet you all, but I tend to agree with Barry - it's a crying shame when people we don't know are catered for and Christopher and his like are not.  Was this the original point of the block booking - I thought it was so you could be all mates together, was it not?

Like all things in life, there is never going to be a way that is fair to everyone as everyone has different views. If it was a fair world we would all be able to buy the tickets that we want from the ACO and not have to endure the lottery system that they have now.

So basically a first come, first serve system is going to have to be the fairest way for such things. So long as your group contains a Club Arnage member, then they are ok to buy pitches on the Club Arnage site. It would be wrong to put a restriction on who can apply for a pitch by the number of years they have been a member or number of posts.

That would be being elite ist and then who would decide where to draw the line, as Club Arnage is a forum for everybody, its not an army or organisation with a pecking order.

Lets not lose sight of the fact that the camp site isn't ours, its the ACO's campsite and we or in fact Team Langoustine only have an allocation for pitches on the site which they chose to offer via the Club Arnage forum first. So it should be up to Team Langoustine to ultimately decide who they accept applications from, so long as they meet the critetia of being a Club Arnage member or part of a group which includes Club Arnage memebrs.

Some members for example have been registered on the forum for years, but for their own reasons have chosen not to post on the forum but do read and keep up with whats going on, on a daily basis. The reasons they don't get invloved with posting is because of all the silly bickering so they would preffer to keep their distance.

It also tickles me to think that it was only 3 years ago that alot of people on this forum looked down their noses on the Bleu Nord campsite and were disgusted at the prospect of being put on there instead of Maison Blanche.

For some of us, Bleu Nord has been our campsite of choice for over 10 years because we wanted to be on there, but now that Maison Blanche is not longer available and everyone else has been trying to get on Bleu Nord as the only alternative its made our life more difficult.

It would be interesting to know how many people that are on BN now would bolt at the first opportunity and go back to MB if they were offered tickets.

Jesus. What have i missed. Well, about 3 months i think. New houses, you got to love em . . or paint, strip, re-paint, re-plumb blah blah blah.

All this comes back to one thing. The ACO are sh*t. What on earth happened to asking for a sensible amount of tickets from them, and then using them.

Thanks should go to Andy at Team L for even offering these tickets.

But stop the moaning. Anyone can put on 100 posts quickly, and just write complete rubbish, or talk long and old tales of bull pooh.

Those who are organised enough to ask ealy, should get tickets. Those who aren't  . . . . .

I best go back to lurking or having a few months off from posting now.

Still got to sort the garden . . . .

Robbo out.

Gents
I hope we can put this to bed with a little good news.
Firstly TL is just like CA. We are a group of guys who found that to get the sites and stands we wanted without the ACO lottery, we had to go about it in a commercial manor. This is primarily why we have allocated our entire Bleu Nord allocation to CA. So I totally understand the disappointment when some of the CA regulars are unable to join the majority in BN.
All of the members who have approached me for places have been allocated on a first come first served basis. as far as I am concerned, this is the fairest.
One regular group in particular has missed out. This was due to a error on my part. One of your members ' Pedersenkorsager ' has been kind enough to reduce his request to enable this group to be given their original requested number of passes.
We still have a request in place for an increase with the ACO, but until I hear from them, here is a list of all those allocated places.

Derek Appleyard   3
Peter Catchpole   2
Barry Redford   4
Werner Kirschman   12
Chris Bauer   6
Marius Longtall   8
Paul Robertson   4
Bob Underwood   4
Mark Every   10
Kenn Korsarger   12
Paul Nicholls   1
Tom Gamble   4
Russell Pearman   20

You will each receive an email confirming this, but I hope you can now start planning for 2010.

I have been emailing with Andy at TL, and to meet the demand from other CA users we agreed that I will be holding 12 tickets instead of 20. This should meet the demand at the moment. I hope that TL will be able to get some extra pitches, or we just have to move closer together. (This might not be bad, as there might be a few girls…..)
I am sorry if any of you have had the feeling that I was pushing you out. As said earlier this has never been intended.
I think the debate on the subject of who and how many tickets can be obtained by a member has been constructive, and I think that it would be a good thing to write up some guidelines for next year. (Even if this means that I might not be able to buy tickets this way)
See you in France
Kenn

There was some kind of partying going on this year on fridaynight, but not as big organised as in previous years. This was partly due to lack of funds on our side, but also the unsurity in security for the gear we would have to bring down for it. And by the way things are looking at for 2010, we won't be able to pull it off also then. But big party/small party, we'll have a great time anyway.

Thanks for the support Debs and Barry, and I generally agree with Chris24.

I have been on BN for several years now, and in the past BS, KN, Houx and HA. In fact, one of the few I have not been on is MB! So not sure I would be making a bolt if it was offered.

Anyway, I understand the principle of first come first serve. Obviously our group were slower to decide if LM 2010 was a goer or not, hence we lost out.

As I said, time to think of a plan B..... ??? Something will hopefully present itself.

I certainly did not want to be the one to start another heated discussion on here.

Hi Marius,

IMHO for a DfH Friday party a lack of funds should not be a killer. I'm close to 100 % sure that if you announce a DfH Friday party and ask for pre-payment - like you did 2 or 3 years ago by selling these orange Party-hats (if I remember correctly) - many  of the CA regulars would happily jump in. Pre-payment from my team LeMansZone would not be an issue . We enjoyed he DfH Friday bash very much and appreciate the effort you have put in it. If Team LemansZone can be of any help in the organisation of a Friday Nite Big Bang - lets get in touch by email.

Cheers

I am sure that with so many CA people on one site, it should be possible to do this, but it will take a truck to get the equipment down to le mans. It also takes lots of effort to construct everything on site. With fewer people in the group that takes a higher toll, also arriving on wednesday means constructing everything on that day, while on MB we always started on monday. I think it can be done, but it would mean more effort from the other groups then just supporting the cause with funds!

Title: Re: CA Camp at Bleu Nord is go!!!!

Well, since DFH will be on BN, that would be where it should be erected. It does however take considerable planning, which will need to include a general CA area. This would mean that all big groups should sacrifice a pitch, (four should do it, in total that is). That is why I mentioned that it will take a lot more effort then just money!

This is just my view on things, I am not attending 2010 so I don't have a say in it anyway, but in my opinion it would take a well coordinated CA effort to achieve a friday night party like we used to throw on MB. And to be fair, coordination is not a strong point of CA, lol.

Greetings one and all. It's been a long time since I have posted on here as I still can't get access on my home system for what ever feccking reason that is.

I can confirm that the Brethren will be on BN in force again along with the Zarses and a depleted Melans squad ( sadly ). Mark is also bringing his'68 Charger down for the first time so bring your earplugs. ( check out the  "one of these days thread.." if you haven't seen the vid, it's fecking awesome. )
JPC, thanks for the tip off regarding us missing off the list whilst we were drinking, I mean skiing. Andymac sorted that out for us. Very strange as I had put my original request in with him many months ago, oh well, all sorted now.

Still not sure about the Popemobile as I believe Rex is now using it as a chicken coop or S+M dungeon or somefink, so it'll need some serious work done and fast if it is going to make it. I've booked the usual transit as a precautionary measure and we'll be stopping in Rouen on the Sunday again for a bit of r+r after another week of debauchery.

I must get this nonsense with my home system sorted soon so that I can get on here more often. Evrything other website works except CA, very strange business indeed.

All the best everyone.

Rusty

I ve made up my mind and I won't to go and sleep rough this and camp it. This is my first time camping @ Le Mans I've always gone with a organized trip on my own. Now I won't to meet up with the CA Camp and get the true le mans atmosphere in me. So for 1 how much is it to camp and 2nd how many people from CA camp on average every year. Also how secure are your valuables like Passports etc in the campsite.

Hi there,

if you've never camped on your own at LM have a look at the 2009 edition of the CA Guide, you can downlaod it at http://www.clubarnage.com/caguide/caguide2009.pdf. There's a lot about camping in there. As far as campsite tickets are concerned you're a little bit late, but it always worth to have a look at the sell and swap section of this forum.

Cheers

If anyone has some spares for BN of even better the CA-camp, pm please ... Could do with 2 (arriving on Monday) and buy parking space on Blanc for those who arrive later in the week.

Ladies and Gents
I am not sure if this post is against CA rules, but it is a genuine offer to CA members only.

The ACO have given TL a second allocation of race tickets. These include blocks in most stands and we would like to offer CA members a block of seats together.
I recommend Sommer T16. It is in my opinion the best stand for views. At the exit of the pits, opposite a large TV screen and excellent view of the Dunlop chicane.
£90 per seat or £150 inc GE pass. We can also supply GE passes only at £60.
This is pretty much cost and covers postage.

If you fancy other grandstands, please give me a call.

Anyone in the CA Camp going to have access to TV for the England/USA footie? My better half wont come without it being shown. She was disappointed enough that Bill's not coming, not having the football would be enough to make her stay at home - Grandstand ticket or no grandstand ticket!

Going to have a word with Paddy - I have just bought a projector which would be good for showing the game if used in one of his massive army tents, I'm sure I have a Sky dish at my folks place - and I have a freesat sky + box which could be used - we should be sorted then.

Ladies and gents.
Your CA campsite passes in Bleu Nord have arrived here at TL.
Rusty is helping us sort who goes where, (so be nice to him) then I expect the ticket packs to be in the post next Monday.
However, some of you will be meeting at the 'Three Frogs' in Wokingham on the 28th and I intend to be there to give out as many ticket packs as possible.
So, I need a list of those with a booking with us who are likely to attend the Frogs.
A little bit of personal service ( and saves me the recorded delivery fees).

Rusty is still having problems logging onto this site from home, so here is the map of the CA Camp allocation for Bleu Nord for thsioe of us that ordered via Team Langoustine (Thanks again Andy!!!)

Please note!!!!! The numbers on the camping pitches themselves do not match with the reference numbers along the top of the map! We've asked Andy to check with the ACO which numbers are correct. The allocations therefore may be subject to alteration should the map not be accurate!

If you have any questions or problems, please direct them through me as Rusty won't be able to pick messages up!

if its the same as last year, closer to the road, airfield is other end.  But there is still a big carpark before you get to the road, so was OK.

The small portion of the map that we have does lookm like it's the same layout as last year so the top of the map will be nearest the airfield and the botton of the map nearest the piece of Bleu parking that we would walk through to the entrance at Maison Banche. Last year there was a pathway straight through our area that worked rather well  :)

Hi Brad

We'll bring all what's needed: Canvas, a beamer, a 60 cm sattelite dish and a digital sat receiver. Having your beamer as a back-up in case ours breaks down would be excellent. What outputs (e.g. DVI, HDMI, cinch) does your beamer have so I can bring the right connecting cables?

Cheers

Just a quick update from me as I can actually get on here at the moment.

As Mark has already mentioned, the original map I was supplied by Andy at TL turned out to be last year's pitches when he check all the numbered tickets he has against the initial layout I was proposing. So it has been back to the drawing board unfortunately.

Mark is quite right in saying that it turns out that we now have 3 large blocks, 2 together but the third one is now seperated by a couple of fire breaks from the others, not a disaster, more a bleeding nuisance. ( typical ACO the cry goes ). Anyways, not a lot we can do about that unfortunately so Mark and I are getting a few thoughts together to sort the allocations out and will post again in the next day or so.

Andy at TL is looking to send out the tickets to those who what them posted at the end of this week so we have a little time to make the layout work for everyone hopefully, the rest he'll distribute at The Three Frogs on the 28th.

Rusty

We're also bringing some kit - so between us we'll have a backup and a main meeting point.
Details to be revealed in plenty of time for England games - this is going to be real special though :)

My beamer has (from memory), VGA, SVHS/S-Video and component inputs -- but im not sure the component inputs work - so stick with plug and play

On a serious note though, Wooly and I have been hatching a plan - we're going to give it a trial run at the weekend - so I'll see you then anyway.

I think it's safe to announce that the camp will have a Bretheren World Cup football party on Saturday though, followed by the midnight gathering at the Porsche Curves, followed by....well...whatever you like really....

Maybe so, but also thought it was going to be a complete CA encampment - who has the brown placements in the centre 78 to 92?

The brown area is where the pitches were last year, which is what Andy at Team Langoustine thought we would be getting again this year! Just thought it would be useful for people to see where they are this year!

Team JPC I notice is where we were last year.  Beware in that every passer by thinks this is the loo as there is a "convenient" lamp post on the corner (why do guys always need something to pee against?) so it smelt like a sewage farm (no, they didn't stop at urinating) by Sunday night.  I did my best Froggy fishwife act several times over the week but it didn't work very well with the Brits..... ::)

Might I suggest that you make sure you bring some tape or something to keep people away from said post?  Or even wire it up to a genny or something so it's live....

Now, how to rig an electric fence........

Hmm,

My neighbour has some fencing that he uses to keep the foxes away from his chickens.

Works off a 12V battery.

Is 12v direct to the penis should work, shouldn't it?

Maybe I should talk to him and borrow the fence again?  ;D

I can see the conversation now:

Geoff: "i'm just popping up to Landmans house to test the new fence darling"

Wife: "the what?"

Geoff:  "the new fence - we're going to see if we can electrocute each others genitals with it"

Wife:  "pardon me?"

Geoff:  "yes - I'm going to my friends house to fiddle about with his penis and see if I can shock it"

Wife:  "I'm going to see our solicitor in the morning"......

Yes, but unfortunately the ACO move in mysterious ways!!!!!

Mark, may I suggest you contact Brian Sheehan at 1st Tickets next year as he will be able to get you all together!! I gave up with the ACO a few years ago because of the hassle with campsites/pitches, we now use 1st Tickets each year and get exactly what we want every time, along with excellent service and competitive price. This year they have sold over 1,000 campsite tickets so a bit a clout with the ACO compared to you or I buying 50 here and there.

Just a thought as I am sure they will be able to help you and get the allocation for CA altogether.

See you in Blue Nord, we our located in zone E rang 27-35 place 55-56 (18 places)

Simon

Hi Simon

We all actually moved to a small agency, Team Langoustine, this year. They have been really helpful, excellent with communication and reasonably priced for the camping tickets. They have also let us buy the camping passes without the need to purchase GA's at inflated prices too!

Unfortunately however, the ACO let them down with their allocation, hence the 90 pitches being seperated!

See you there in a couple of weeks!!! :-)

first, I understand you don't have to buy GA's from 1st tickets to get the campsite pass as we have done exactly this in the past, secondly the last couple of years we have also purchased the GA's from 1st tickets at a very reasonable fee, and lastly we are all together in exactly the place where we want to be, so all round an excellent service, that's priceless!!
