To those who are going, hope you enjoy the mudfest, traffic jams and overpriced boring horseshit.

And I hope the predicted bad weather doesn't spoil the driver's hairstyles.

Glad you had a top time Bird.

Having said that, the British GP proved to me conclusively what is wrong with current F1 cars. GRRR! After the Trulli accident, out comes the safety car, with all F1 cars bunched up behind. The whole picture of the race is rewritten; the drivers are all fired up, adrenalin flowing. Pit stops have been made, new tyres on and cars topped up on fuel. So we're all set for a fantastically exiting 15 lap sprint race to glory, on one of the finest Grand Prix curcuits in the world!

The tension mounts, the safety car pulls in and it's GO GO GO! And then what happens. I'll tell you what. Absolutely nothing. Nil! Nada! Zilch-o! Not one single overtaking manouver for the first six cars. As soon as they get too close to the man infront, they are aerodynamically compromised to the extent that overtaking is impossible. The word anti climax springs to mind and personally I don't watch sport to be disappointed in the product. GRRR!

Everyone goes on about the overtaking further down the grid. To my mind, this is a complete red herring. Firstly, so bloody what if someone moves from 12th place to 11th? I really couldn't give a fu ck. Big deal. Secondly, the reason this happened anyway is becuase the cars at the back are nowhere near as good as, say, the top eight cars. And the drivers are less experienced and talented than the top men. Thus more mistakes happen and it is this that allows the overtaking manouver. Very little of it is empiracally because of a flash of genius. GRRR!

Get rid of traction control and launch control, reduce the downforce, reduce the grip and let the racers race. Then I'll start watching again. GRRR!

anyway very true

the only moment of any interest was the crash -  just that carnal instinct takes over and you just have to see, like rubber necking you just can't help it

Lose the refuelling stops too. Schumacher makes no attempt to overtake because he knows that he doesn't need too. Wait till the guy in front pits then put in the fast laps. Easy for Schumacher, but about as interesting as watching paint dry!

Good point Stuey, though you have to admire the mans' speed round a track.
