Steer clear of people with antinuclear bumper stickers pasted on their cars.

They are interested in preserving mankind, which is admirable. They are not necessarily interested in preserving you, or themselves, for that matter.

They have more important things to think about.

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

The car was the self build C-6R with an Offenhauser engine. It didn't finish, though. Why was 1955 the last year that Briggs Cunningham competed in Europe ?  Grin

I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.

1955 was final year for Cunningham cars due to the US Internal Revenue Service only allowing 5 years before classifying such a business as a non-deductible hobby and, therefore, the factory closed its doors at the end of the year.

Right you are.  Grin Interesting, quitting racing just to avoid the tax.

Sad Not exactly avoiding the tax but loosing the deduction for the expenses.  Cry B.C. was also the first to show up at a racetrack with his cars in a large enclosed trailer with car ramps and an integral machine shop.  Cool

Smiley No new `teasers' for a while as I am preparing to go to Long Beach California where I will be a marshal at the OWRS (nee CART) race.  Grin That will be followed the next weekend by a Porsche Reunion at Daytona, and the following weekend also at Daytona for an SCCA National club race.  Shocked I will be running the radio net at Race Control at Daytona.   Cheesy
