Hello,
Thought I would let people on here know, that if anyone in the UK is
interested in going to the Festival of Speed in July, then please
read this.

The Sunday Times had an offer in yesterdays paper, for two free
tickets to the opening day at the FOS (Friday) Please note they are
only available with this offer for the Friday, if you want tickets
for the other days then you will have to get these from Goodwood.

To get a pair of tickets, call 09015 613 111 (UK, 60p/min) Calls
last no longer than two minutes. One pair of tickets per call.
Maximum 2 pairs per household.

You follow the instructions and give them your name, post code,
address, e mail, then key in your phone number on your key pad, then
answer a few questions about how often you read the Times/ Sunday
Times. (I fibbed and made up numbers here as i don't actually read it)

They should then send you a pair of tickets (Subject to availability)
which should arrive by July 4th.
The phone line is open till midday on Thursday June 26th, but will
close early if ticket supplies are exhausted before then

Don't shoot the messenger though if this offer comes to nought, and
best of luck. I just phoned ,if it works then it will save my Dad and
me £13 each.

Regards
Chris

Wish I'd known this earlier as I've not long ordered tickets for the Saturday, and going Friday would not have made much difference to me (except fot the time off work of course). Not the messengers fault of course!

Never mind, I'm sure others will be pleased to have this info.

Is anyone else going down on the Friday?? Assuming my freebies come through I'll venture down. Won't get there until lunchtime though as I need to drop off some US colleagues at Heathrow in the morning.

I was pleasantly surprised to find my free Sunday Times tickets had arrived in the post when i got home last night. So friday it is then, actually my favoured day, due to much less crowds.

My memorable moment last year was chatting in the evening sunshine to Sir Stirling, whilst he leant nonchalently up a C-type Jag and discussing the finer points of the D-type shortnose, as someone warmed up a 917 Can-am not ten yards away. Guys, it just don't get much better than that!

I am still waiting for the catch with the free tickets though, which I guess is to be bombarded by email, post and phone canvassers for double glazing, kitchens, Stannah stairlifts etc, even tho I pressed the NO button during the call. Mind you, the Stannah could be useful for negotiating the stairs after a good friday lock-in in the pub. And I was wondering who will they get to do the adverts now that dear old Thora Hurd has ascended the Stannah eternal to join the bleedin' choir incontinent? Sorry I've gone off on one again.

No way, Jose!

There's about seven of us going so I'll be in either a Discovery, an Vauxhall Astravan or an Ferrari F355, depending on how it pans out. An eclectic collection of cars I think you will agree!

JP I get the feeling you have deliberately misunderstood me for comic effect. To clarify, all three vehicles are going, it is just a question as to who will be in which car. Or van. Or 4x4, if you are being pedantic. Which I am.

I am waiting on news about the tickets, I phoned on the first Sunday so should be okay as they say the lines will close when numbers run out.

Anyone got a spare free Sunday Times offer FofS ticket for the friday they are able to part with? Will cover postage costs.

We thought we'd got enough but are now short. Not a huge problem as you can pay £13 on the gate, but its better than seeing a free ticket go to waste.

Andy,
We may have, depending on if they send us any at all, My dad rang for two on 22nd June, and I rang for two on Monday 23rd,
As of yet we haven't recieved any tickets, unless they arrived in todays post ! Damn, I hope so, because I want to be getting my tickets for Saturday ordered ASAP, but am waiting to see if the free tickets arrive for the Friday first.
If they do arrive then I will have at least one spare.
