Stumbled across this today..............

Looks like a copy of the Festival of Speed for us Northerners

The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power,
Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire

Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August 2008

www.pageantofpower.com

Tickets look a steep as though they are trying to cash in on the FOS popularity, with camping as an extra Roll Eyes

Looks OK, I might just have a trip over to that with Lady Steve. (It says something about shopping!)

Up North?

Over west and up a bit from yere in Brumshire

Might have made a goodish venue for a Norf Shroppy meeting but they say they are a bit funny oop Cheshire, cheesey like!

And steep? I dunno, its costing me £25 to visit Silverstone for the Classic next month and there wont be many yellycopters to look at.

If I'm lucky there might be a flash in the sky from another P51 like last year, fine but no ceegar!

I might be on for this, more later after discussion with my financial director.

I am definiately up for this - boats being the big draw for me in this instance but the rest looks interesting too.

Its not far from Manc, but I might even camp overnight if there are a few others attending to make up a party!!

Just to clarify - is this one of those instances where its pronounced "chumley" or is it really "chol-mond-ley"?  Wouldnt want to appear foolish!!  Huh

Fran

Mr Chumley answers your question in the first para!

"A unique event in an historic setting. The Cholmondeley Pageant of Power is a weekend-long celebration of the very best in historic sports and racing cars, historic motorcycles, classic boats and powerboats and helicopters. It all takes place in the grounds of glorious Cholmondeley Castle (pronounced Chumley) situated on the A49, in the rolling pastures of south Cheshire, mid-way between Whitchurch and Chester."

Seems a good event to me

p'raps!

Still not having read the detail, I havent found out if its a "dress up" event....  could just go for it anyway!  Some good solid foundation wear (in that strange "fleshtone" colour) suit you alright Bill?

Hmmm...I've obviously still got PC problems.  The first time I looked at this thread, it ended with Fran's 'Chumley' question.  Next time I looked, there were 2 or 3 responses before mine!!  Sorry for the repeat answer.

@Fran - I'll probably be half way there - in Salop - that weekend
