I do believe myself and my beautiful assistant victoria shall be visiting this race of motorised vehicles. With champagne and The Marker Pen.

It's also Vik's birthday, so I reckon she might appreciate all forms of alcoholic donation. If yer passing like.

I'll be there but sadly one man down to share the fuel costs. Silly bugger went and booked a flight out to watch the Lurgan Park Rally in Ireland on the same day.

But there should be two of us, hopefully giving my new motor (A4 TDI Quattro) its first long distance run out , subject to me buying it tomorrow all being well.

Coming saturday and hoping to camp over at the track and do sunday as well.

mmm

long jump in a pile of builder's sand
pole vault over the scaffolding

shot putting a hod of bricks

javelin using scaffold tubes

still you could have dumper truck racing across the dust bowl, formation jcb driving instead of sychronised swimming

builder's sweaty bum award

drugs testing for high levels of tannin/flavournoids from teas being swilled

who can lean on the shovel the longest before passing out in the heat

who can get a 100 mph out of a transit overloaded crap award

Good job too - your previous scrawlings have washed off and need redoing. Wink

Will be coming over for the Saturday only unless there is a deluge of large proportions on the day. Silverstone is a godawful place in that kind of weather, and the last time I attended a few years ago (I think it was an Empire Trophy event) the race was almost cancelled as the cars were aquaplaning everywhere.

Hopefully Wishywashyman and Little Wishy too making an appearance.

For those of us attending only on the day of the 6 hr race maybe a time and place to meet up for a beer should be arranged - say a couple of hours before the proceedings start?

Russ, how did you pull off the Audi hospitality ! I have driven an Audi for the last 5 years and have just spent £5600 on another one, does this help ? I guess not but worth a try.

Hi Chris,

...who you know...not what you know...  Roll Eyes

Part of the perks of working for the VW-Audi group is that they always offer a certain number of tickets to staff for all the VW/Audi/Seat racing events, normally for free, but sometimes (as with this one) for a nominal fee...£5!

...so far not been able to wangle any real Le Mans privelidges... but the Silverstone/Donnington tickets I've had have been very welcome.

Oh, and seeing as I don't actually work there...they come from somebody I know who does, so I get their extra ticket!

So the moral hear is... befriend an employee!!!! Or even better...marry one like I did!! ...just don't try and marry mine!!!  Wink

4 year relationship: £12,000
Wedding: £14,000
Wife getting a job at Audi....priceless!!!    Grin Grin Grin Grin
