just trying to make up my mind what time and where to watch this year :-

1.Start....Dunlop bridge
2. Back to base for food and chill out
3. Dusk....Tetre rouge virage
4. 9-10pmish Village...poo bar, pit area
5. Midnight push bike off to Arnage virage to watch the action sucking on some nice cold ones and munch some frits
6. 4am back to tetre rouge till dawn
7. sleeeep for a couple of hours !
8. breakie and off to  check out the esses for a while
9. Back to the village and chill out in the Aco lounge
10. Main grandstand area and watch the finnish  Grin

anybody suggest anything better/must-do?  Is Indianapolis worth a look ? I tried Porsch curves once but it was so packed and the veiwing on tip toes was not good Sad

I think the start is best seen opposite the last of the pit garages. You get to see all the pre race stuff that is going on. Once the race has started the Big screen opposite helps you keep on top of the racing.

Best of all is the noise as all the cars thunder up towards Dunlop.

As far as I'm concerned any itinerary is a good itinerary.

My advice is try to go places you haven't seen yet or go to places at a time you haven't been before.
Arnage is as close as you can get to Indianapolis.  I like making the trip to Mulsanne too.
For me,  in front of the pits is the only place to be for the start and finish.

Miss out no. 7 and it looks good to me!  Mulsanne's definately worth doing, but if you're around for practice, it's much quieter and better viewing then.  (Beware of the mob with the pic-nic table and gallons of 'poo on Thursday though, they are to be avoided at all costs Wink.)

The last couple of years Porsche curves have been good at around 06.00. And then into Arnage village around 07.30 for coffee and sticky pastry delites.

Mulsanne corner.  Thursday, there are far fewer people out there.  We have to take the car to carry all the booze!  (Plus tables, chairs, cool boxes etc etc.) We used to do the restaurant but now eating inside is virtually impossible and the viewing has deteriorated so we gave up, I'm afraid.  Although I haven't been during the race since it was sold and got all posh.

We usually leave the grandstands at the end of the daylight session and are generally in situ (between the trees and the ciruit on the left hand side as you walk up towards the corner) by the time the night session starts so we can pop the first cork when the cars come by.  Always tons of room.  That gives us an hour or so to eat, then we still have time to go up to the corner itself for the end of the session.  I always find this one of the most laid back and pleasant times of the weekend. The best picnic spot on the planet.  And the music!  No band or orchestra in the world makes a sound that.  Perfect.
