Not a newbie to LeMans, but am to camping and BSJ. How bad is it to pitch a tent, and then perhaps leave my site on Friday to drive the track? Will I get the spot back?

I'd rather have another Tropillama!

If last year is anything to go by on Friday the site will be getting quite full. If your just going to leave the tent to go down the town or do some other non-Le Mans event your tent will still be there and you should still be able to park your car.   In my experiance it's the Start  and the End of the Race that are the worst times.  Pikies know everyone will be at the stadium for an hour or two.

Take a few garden canes and a bit Traffi / Hazard Tape and mark your pitch out. Usually keeps people out. If someone takes a bit of your pitch, start sharpening the axe on the grinding wheel shouting 'Heres Johnny'. That should get them to depart.
