Title: Autosport guide article.
Post by: Mr. Rick on June 03, 2013, 09:20:49 am
Looks like some words and photos by me will be in the Autosport guide this year. Published on my birthday, 13th June. Hurrah!  ;D

Congrats on both counts.  It might make the A/S guide worth printing!

Nice on Sir Rick. I scoured the Motorsport magazine (which is excellent btw) until I realised I was looking in the wong journal. Doh!

Thanks chaps! It's only a short piece from a spectator's point of view, intended as a basic guide for a newbie. The original piece I wrote was 3 times too long so had to cut right back! Have supplied many photos and won't know which ones they've used until I see it next Thursday on the newstand  ;)

great to see you are still at it Mr Rick

Thanks PM. More time behind the lens these days. Photos usually appear on DailySportscar or Endurance Info. Nice to put pen to paper every so often though. Must find some time to blow the cobwebs off MB and bring that kicking and screaming back up to date!

Hope all's good with you and yours. Assume you will be on MB again this year? We're on the TL site at Tertre Rouge these days but normally swing by MB on the Friday to catch up with whoever we find. Will keep an eye out for the flag.

Talking of which, as LM has been bumped back a week, I'm off to Welsh Wales for my birthday this year instead (13th). Going to follow in my dear Granpop's footsteps and take a ride on the Talyllyn.

Missing being at the test weekend already. Assuming the new Pilbeam LMP2 gets an entry for 2014 then I'll definitely be back for the test next year. Can't wait to see those Porsche prototypes!  ;)

Hi Rick,
The WANCs have been conspicuous by their absence te last few years. Many of us were ousted from MB and now reside on Blu Nord where Werner & the Germans + Rusty and the Bretheren along with the Liverpool Boys manage to keep us entertained  ;D
Can hardly wait.

You and anyone else who doesn't want to buy a pre-erected tent, next to an empty space......

Rick - the party is on Bleu Nord these days....

.......and I probably owe you a few beers.

No beers owed young Sir, all part of the service. Don't mind sharing a few though  ;)

Phil, look forward to catching up on Thursday as discussed. If not hopefully see you on Friday at some point then!  :)

I note the Autosport guide is now in the shops.

It is the normal A5 booklet,  with details of the entries,  about 60 pages.  Cost for the mag £3.50.

Have I missed something or is this the first time in 40 years that Autosport hasn't done their Le Mans Guide ten days before?  The latest issue barely recognises that the race is on.

Guess they do it for us who go. No fans no guide.

Looking back on the Autosport Magazine website, they didn't do a 2020 British GP Guide either, so you're obviously right.  God bless Andy Blackmore and his Spotters' Guide, then.

As you were: according to their website there's a 52 page Le Mans Guide in today's issue.  Pity my nearest W H Smiths is 15 miles away and British Eurosport live coverage is just about to kick off!
