Title: Motorhomes from home
Post by: BigH on January 08, 2004, 07:18:17 pm
I got my ticket confirmation through yesterday, and have just noticed the blue leaflet in there, reading thus:

"If you have booked a parking place for a motor-home, take good notices of the following new measures :
- special areas dedicated to motor-home will be opened in the Blue, Red, and Antares parks
- price is 38 €
- the entrance in the other parking will be forbidden

You can call ACO at (+33) (0)892 697 224 if you want to change your booking and price or if you'd like to book a place in a lay-by instead."

This might be blow for some of the Winnibogie boys, maybe the bribery stakes have just been raised.

I took this to read - if you have a motorhome booked for MB or Houx, you're okay.

However, if you sneak it in the blue, red or antares car parks, they'll charge you a higher rate.

After an initial panic, I think you're right Steve.

But I bet they change the rules an impose an extra charge on 3.8 Jag owners, unless they do burnouts outside the Sports Bar on the Friday.

Has a 3.8 Jag got enough grunt to chirp it's tyres? - I thought the 'fog' on Big H's avatar was oil smoke!

It's certainly got enough grunt to smash a Peugeot 405 estate to pieces from a standing start. Even on crossplies.

Don't panic. It just means you can't park a motorhome in a CAR PARK, except in Blue, Red or Antares parks, where they'll be waiting to collect your 38 euros. They won't admit motorhomes to any other car parks.
Have fun and see you there!

Oil smoke? Chirping tyres? Peugeots?
You b*stards.
I'd almost forgot about that episode with the Pug, although a total stranger stopped me at last years race and presented me with a photo of the incident. I wasn't sure whether or not to politely thank him or give him a hard time.
This year I think I'll remove the chrome lettering from the boot and replace it with "The Rectal Rocket".
