Just got back - now I need to recover. Met DfH an Saturday nicght and we did exaclty that Grin Saw some good racing between the Pugs and teh Audis - and a novum too: The race was red flagegd after app. 2 hours because of a power cut in the whole region. No timekeeping (no one seems to have thos old-fashsioned stop watches any more), no proper communication with the drivers, so the red flag came out

Power came back after about an hour so they continued - The Pugs won. More later

Cheers

was watching it on Eurosport, was so wierd. They kept saying as this had never happened before they were not sure what was going to happen. As some cars were worked on in the pits and one's on the track were not.

They said, that as the cars had transponders the info could not be read, and no safety lighting system with the power down. Was a big question about the info they were supose to be getting and had durring the race, did they loose is all in the power cut.

The power cut (so they say) was caused a lightening strike in the area, alot of the local towns were out as well. Sounds like a bloody big one.

Seemed like a good race and seems like fun was had by all.

Spyker car looks good on TV.

Pretty sure they have, but it did not matter to much as the teams relied on pit boards etc and the marshals had flags.

Good knows what would happen if it happened now.

Yes, they had that, but it's only got enough to run for about an hour, which it did, and then stopped!!

Part of the inquiry that is coming out of this is how the amount of power being drawn at the circuit now may have overloaded the system!
