Dear all, Got back yesterday safe and sound after another outstanding year of motorsport, petrolheads, beer and sun. MGA ran faultlessly through the week - even managed the drivers parade this year without overheating. Highlights and thanks: 1 - The Brethren - thanks guys for a fantastic Friday party and lesson taught to the noisy french campers on the Saturday morning. 2 - The Silk Cut Cortina being replaced by the Silk Cut Volvo, complete with inflatable passengers, and the Gulf Racing caravan. 3 - Arnage village throughout the week 4 - Drivers parade - thanks for the encouragement (including liquid refreshment) from those of you that were on the route. Oh there was a race too and that was great - brain tired, so thanks to all, Mark

Head for the outside of the circuit for the pit terraces or the past there up towards the Esses - get there for one-ish and be prepared with your refreshments, so you don't have to leave your spot - it gets crowded, but its great fun. Enjoy

Hi - During the qualifying/race, you can:
Walk on the inside of the circuit from the Karting Nord campsite through to Tetre Rouge, although once past Karting nord, you can see nothing until you spit out of the other side of the pit village, and then you can walk up to Tetre Rouge with a few minor diversions.
Walk on the inside of the circuit from Masion Blanche all the way (including the start/finish straight opposite the pits) up to just short of Tetre Rouge corner, where there is a pedestrian tunnel to get onto the inside of the circuit.
Take your pick, but we normally walk up one side and back down the other. Porshce curves is a separate spectator area in its own right, but is walkable from the Karting Nord or Maison Blanche. Arnage and Mulsanne are separate spectator areas best accessed by vehicle.
Enjoy and take comfortable walking shoes!

A few tips:
Enjoy it Take the radio Travel Light Be prepared to walk to see the accessible parts of the circuit, so take something comfortable for walking and a backpack to stick some basic suppies like bottled water in - standing in the terraces near the start for a couple of hours can be bloody hot! Get the Autosport Le Mans guide Check out the various discssion threadson this site - you'll find all sorts of useful info amidst the banter

Having looked under the car today, the tent check planned for Saturday is now going to be supplemented by Sunday spent welding up the rear axle casing, which has decided to spring a leak at the most awkward bloody point possible - where it is seated onto the leaf spring.........

Two words - Do it. Three words - Do it again. Took my lad when he was 14 for the same reason (previously booked passenger dropped out). He (and I) had an absolute ball - he spent the week walking round with eyes bulging out on stalks and a grin so big that chewing on lemons couldn't wipe it off! Good Dad-son bonding stuff, particularly if he thinks he's tough and keels over after a couple of 33cl bouteilles of biere.......

Great - that'll be traffic backed up at the ports then. Would have thought it is most likely to be the lot, including the ferries, although Eurotunnel is normally pretty much OK. Bearing in mind that the strikes normally cover the working day, night sailings should be OK, although catching up the backlog could be an issue. Make sure your fuel tank is full before you leave UK, pack the emergency rations and expect the unexpected!
