I noticed this.  This guy and this car sparked my passion for motor racing way back when both they and I were a good deal younger - he has a lot to answer for!  I had been a bit worried when he wasn't at LM for a couple of years.  Really great news.

We had the good fortune to meet David and Liz Piper at a hotel opening in Oxford 18 months ago,  they both have some great stories to tell!
Good to see both him and his car back at Le Mans,  hopefully for a safe run!

Of course I buy green cars, my Aston is green, my MGB is green, my Disco Sport is green,  oh, that's not what you meant by green?

Brilliant. Brings back a lot of memories from the early 80s when I used to visit classic events quite often. Even a couple of drivers apparently are still running! David Piper of course, but also Barry Sidery "sideways" Smith. Has a great original works MGB with Le Mans history. Also the Scuderia del Portello team were there in the old days. I'm looking forward to this!

Class 2, #60 - Tom Falconer - before he started Claremont Corvette Tom was (he may still be) an Architect with a practice in an old windmill in Claremont Road, Newcastle. I used to call on his as a technical rep back in the day (20+ years ago) and he used to deal in used Corvettes from the ground floor of the building. He showed me around and I noticed a black 1975 (ish) 427  convertible sitting there looking at me. Yours for £2500 he said. I didn't have the money. I didn't have the bloody money!!!!!!!!!

What you needed of course, was for somebody to build a motorway through your home, which was of course how DP got started.  The M1 was constructed across the family's land and the compensation helped to pay for the first cars.
Reminded me of this
