3586  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Wife Problem on: September 14, 2004, 01:28:58 pm
I have been going to La Sarthe every year since 1992 with the wifes' blessing. She has always said she wasn't interested in Le Mans as it couldn't be as spectacular as F1 (poor dissalutioned soul). Now, thanks to TV coverage of the LMES she has suddenly seen the light and has mentioned comeing next year. Bloody hell guys what am I going  to do , any suggestions ? Thanks a lot Motors TV you don't know what a theat to my marriage you have caused .

Sorry, I forgot to ask about a web sight or phone number (something to do with the copious amount of red wine I had consumed). I should be going over again in 4 or 5 weeks. Iwill find out then and keep you posted.
3592  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Model shop on: August 31, 2004, 09:39:36 am
I have just spent the bank holiday weekend in Lille in northern France where I came across a wonderful little model shop. The shop is called "Nord Marquette" and is in the old town area. It has models of just about every Le Mans winning car plus many others . The owner is a really nice guy who was quite happy to chat for nearly an hour about past Le Mans experiences while leaving the customers to the spotty Saturday boy. For any other sad model collecting git like me I can highly reccomend a visit if you are in the area .

I asked the wife to record the race from Motors TV while I was at Silverstone, big mistake. She never did master the VCR So she had no bloody chance with a DVD recorder. Never mind she does iron a mean shirt.

Very disappointing coverage, a couple of interviews and five minutes of the race. It's a pity that sportscar racing is not as boring as Bernie's bi-weekly procession, perhaps then we could expect half decent TV coverage.
3596  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Le Mans DVD on: August 09, 2004, 12:05:43 pm
I've just read that this years race DVD will be available on 23 August. Does anyone know if this will be the same coverage as has been showing on Motors TV ? No point in buying it it is , just the pain of fast forwarding through the ad breaks.

A great effort, this was featured in Autosport the week after. Could be a new objective to get your beer mountain pictured in a national magazine.

Going Saturday morning until Sunday after, rest of the gang bottled out.If you see somone wandering about looking like Billy Nomates come over and say hello cos that will be me. Maybe I will see you in the Royal Oak in Silverstone village on Saturday night. I read in the Silverstone year book that they will be using the International circuit instead of the GP circuit. Whats that all about are they expecting a go-cart race or what.
3599  Club Arnage / 2007 and earlier / MODEL WANTED on: June 17, 2004, 04:16:58 pm
I have tried all the usual model shops here , at Le Mans and on ebay so you guys are my last hope. I am looking for a 1:43 scale model of the Pilot sponsored F40 as raced in 1995. I believe it was issued by Minichamps but I may be wrong on this. Mint condition and boxed would only be considered. Can any of you Le Mansters out there help me on this one ?

Got space for one on a Thursday overnighter leavingfrom the High Wycombe area. I know its 24 hours too early for your mate but if he is prepared to pull a sickie we will be willing to give him a lift.
