Good to meet you guys and, of course, girls last night, sorry I didn't get to speak to you all, but thanks for an entertaining evening. Catch up with you all on the other side in a fortnight.
LPP think we are on for the chilli - I didn't mention one of my party is a doctor - might be handy.
cheers! Adrian.

Cheers Bud! just parking really arriving on Saturday AM, so don't want the hassle of finding a pitch.
Last year parked in Bleu(?) the one opposite the Maison Blanche entrance, paid on the gate but was on a bike then so maybe that was easier, ACO web site says it is sold out so that makes me nervous about arriving and paying on the gate.
Will PM Ian - thanks for your help!
cheers! Adrian.

Doubt it is true....sidewinder is a heat seeking air to air system (sidearm was the anti radar equivilant - replaced by "harm" years ago), Tornado isn't operated by the Dutch, and the weapon system locking on to the radar source without pilot input - well I think whoever wrote it watched the Clint Eastwood movie Firefox too many times - okay that system was thought controlled....I'll get me anorak!

Hi Chris, no way are the boys playing with daddys' cars!!! Having seen the pictures of your track the scenary looks fine to me as it is, still looking at the barriers can sometimes be more interesting than the race - guess Alonso was looking at the scenary whilst screwing over Lewis in the pits during qually today, he certainly wasn't getting on with doing his job.
cheers! Adrian.

Probably got abot 50 slot cars in my collection - latest is the Olive Garden Lola from the ALMS race at Silverstone in 2000 - cool car, looks like a boat! Got LM winners since 1997 (my first year) except the '01, '02 Audi's and '03 Bentley, waiting on the '06 Audi. Also got a whole raft of cars from 1970 (probably about 25 of them) building the Porsche 914/6 at the moment from a 1:32 scale model kit - should be cool. Also converting an old Airfix 1:32 scale Alvis Stalwart to a slotcar - should be a bit of fun if rather slow!
cheers! AB.

Club Arnage / Help / On my bike...
|
on: May 31, 2007, 11:22:15 pm

Just received an unexpected 2 day pass to get to LM this year, first went in 1997 - not missed one since - and with the arrival of no. 2 son in Feb this year thought I would miss out. So Fugitive transport is out (see www.fugitives.co.uk) as not going to be ready in time so will be on Suzuki... So need somewhere fairly secure to park the bike down there, somewhere to sleep (ha!) and a GA ticket, any one help? Arriving Saturday AM, leaving just after the flag falls. MB has been home for the last 4 (maybe 5) years but any ideas welcome - charity accepted here!!! cheers! Adrian.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Your best Accident

Sounds like a tempting fate topic to me...been lucky and not had too many accidents...many near misses, had a big one in a go kart a few years back, was in the middle of an endurance race over taking for third on a very fast right hander, I was on the outside when he decided to Schmacher me, kart spun a few times before meeting the tyres and my left hand side impacted the engine - bruised ribs hurt so much I couldn't get my race suit off without a lot of pain - got back on track to finish my stint though, caught him up a couple of laps later, he just finished his braking for the hairpin when I caught him, seems I'd forgotten about the braking bit, the impact slowed my kart so I could make the corner, his impact with the tyres ended his kart's race oh dear! - red mist great stuff! seem to recall the clerk of the course wasn't best pleased!
Road one was a near miss, in my old citroen BX I rounded a corner on a country lane a bit quick and found a queue of cars waiting for a milk tanker to back into a farmyard, hit the middle peddle and due to the momentum from the corner the car spun 360 degrees later I let go of the brake pedal, and somehow was on the wrong side of the road still going forward, so just shot past the queue of cars, went half way up the opposite bank to squeeze passed the front of the tanker, and waved thanks to the driver in the first of the queue of cars coming the other way...the sakes started about 30 seconds later!!!
cheers! Adrian.
