Friday we were not allowed to take in Cans of Beer. Coke was OK. Saturday, Coke was NOT OK, so I asked why had the rules changed and the lady checking from Houx to the Track waved as in. Sunday, Beer smuggled in.
Really ACO, it's getting beyond a joke. your Beer prices are way too high.

Motorhome search for Security reasons, looking for terrorists and guns etc. However, all they did was look inside the MH, they did not look in the toilet/washroom, nor in the locker under the bed. This was at 3.30am when there were no cars coming in, and at least 5 on the gate ! They were not looking for drinks on Houx.

I'm going to be arriving on Houx on Thursday early pm but I guess a lot of you are setting off this weekend or early next week. Can I wish everyone a very safe journey and look forward to meeting friends old and new at Le Bar Courbe at 9pm Thursday.
Steve
Also arriving on Houx on Thursday, but early AM, so about 3am or so. Doubt I'll find anyone up as we did the same last year, and proceeded to spend 45 minutes following a bloke on a bike who had no idea where our pitch was ! Safe Travels.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Le Mans App

Last year the App never worked for me, it was possibly due to bandwidth issues. It never updated. Wifi is virtually non-existent in previous years, and as my Le Man buddy is no longer an ACO member, we don't get into their areas with Wifi anymore.
I am a Three customer, so the Feel at Home service works OK for email and Messaging services, and I use a Thee MiFi as well. Neither of these are good enough to stream video in my experience.

Her Majesty's Passport Office quote 3 weeks. 45 - 21 = Loads of time... The car has gone in for its service - the first since 2013, so not bad. MOT isn't due until Le Mans week, so not getting that yet. Now bikes or no bikes..... I just need to know, what will the weather be? Won't be taking the bikes, cos they got nicked last year !

My only experience of train travel in the US is from Cincinnati to Chicago about twenty-five years ago, it was comfortable but not exactly the most scenic ride, mostly corn & cows. Read that the race is very close to being sold out for the first time in over twenty years, that's 235,000 seats! Throw in the infield crowd and probably looking at around 300,000 to 350,000 for raceday. Not the half a million they used to get in the good old days, but damn close. Fax
I was there a few weekends ago, and did the Circuit Tour and a visit to the Museum. The tour guides expect about 400,000 this year, and you can still buy infield tickets on the day. They did indicate that all the seats are sold, but they were still encouraging people to turn up on the day. It was an awesome tour, and well worth the 2 hour drive from my Hotel in Mason, OH.

I was going to take my nice new Cube , and am really glad I did not. SO next time it will be a cheap bike, which I will remove the front wheel over night, so it will stop the scrote riding it out and use a number of meaty locks. The front wheel will be locked in the camper !
The nice bike will have to stay at home. I would be very unhappy to lose a nice one.
The bike I took was mince, but I had passed onto my son for him to use, and he was a little cross it had gone.

I took a bike for the first time, decided against taking the Cube (£1K) and took a £120 second hand one.
Despite it being locked up, bolt croppers were used and the steel cable snipped. A number of bikes were also taken from Houx, it sounded to me like a planned effort to steal a bunch of bikes. In the dark, the bike looked quite nice, I guess they were disappointed in the daylight, as it was quite well used and scratched.
It was not reported stolen, as I wanted to spend the last few hours of the race watching it rather than reporting it to the police.
We estimate it was taken between 3am and 4.30am on the Sunday morning. I got up to check if there was a sunrise photo opportunity to find it had gone. It was only 2 metres from my head, while I was sleeping in my camper.
My hope to the thieves, is that the front forks fail, and you need new teeth.

Next year, will look out for cans at SuperU, no glass bottles for us from 2016.
Why is that? Aricus We were checked on the way out of Houx for glass bottles. Beer in plastic bottles was fine. And the prices in the Village were just over €9 for 50cl.

The rest of the Baguettes reported a 45 Min exit from Houx, so no different to MB on previous years, so in hindsight we could have made the Eurotunnel, but as it was, I got offered a much earlier train. Helps having a high vehicle.
