Club Arnage / 2016 / Re: Caen to Le Mans - help

The train ride from Caen to Le Mans is a pleasant one, certainly. I did it last year on my way out. One thing to remember is that the ferry docks at Ouistreham which is around 18-20 kilometres from the nearest train station which is at Caen. So be prepared for either a cheap bus ride or an expensive cab fare after disembarkation.

Club Arnage / Help / Expo-Best place for a single tent.

Hi guys.
I'm on Expo this time round and I'll have a standard-type 2-person tent with a tarp that I can string between trees. No car. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good spot for me to pitch up, seeing as Expo isn't too well supplied with grassy bit that aren't concreted over.
Any ideas, anybody?

Yep, that's the one. As she's obviously still there (excellent news, by the way) it looks as though that report was wrong or she's changed her mind. Which is great, as Jeannine's place is an important part of Le Mans for me.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Ceremony of hands.

Evening All.
As always, I'm pondering what next to do at Le Mans that I haven't done before. Having done the drivers parade I was thinking of doing Monday's scrutineering and the ceremony of hands where last year's winners have their handprints placed in a pavement marker.
Are either of these worth doing?
While we're on the subject of stuff to do, I know that Jannine has moved on from running 'Aux Portes du Circuit.' Is the place still running as I do like to have a coffee or two there on my arrival in Le Mans?

Slight change of plan.
Outward: 09/06/2016, Eurostar, 1224, London to Le Mans via Paris.
Return: 22/06/16, Roscoff to Plymouth, Brittany Ferries, 1500.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: 2016 tickets

This is the major reason that I decided that another year of ACO membership at north of 100 euros was just not worth it any more. So, when my renewal came up last month, I didn't bother.
Instead, the money I've saved has been spent with a ticket agency to cover their face value mark up (they are, after all, a business).
At least this way, I get the tickets I want, without the major annual "the sites crashed, I can't log on, there's no tickets in the campsite I want" ACO on-line tickets sales trauma.
Sod em!
Don't forget the annual 'Yes, you did order five camping permits in a block for Houx Annexe, but here's two for Mulsanne, two for Expo and one for Beausejour and none of them are on connecting pitches.' experience.
