They all claim to get rid of Spyware and Pop ups but i dont of 1 bit of software that is effective on everything. Yahoo Toolbar is ok, it has a built in popup blocker and Spyware remover.

Just got a email back from ACO re: Houx Annexe, and they do allow RV's in, but no hook ups available which i was aware of......do you think its worth changing our second choice campsite from Houx Annexe to something else or wait and see what they come up with?

Yes i suppose £795 may sound expensive to start with but divide that by 5 maybe 6 and it starts to sound relatively good value, particularly over 4 or 5 days, which is the plan. As far as taking the big engined small sportscar, we did consider it, but then we all started arguing about whos driving what etc so we binned the idea, besides, it will be more of a laugh with a few of us stuffed into a plodding beer wagon :-)

Will see how it goes next year with the wagon and maybe follow it up the year after with a small convoy!   Shocked

Thanks for that, ive stuck a email into the ACO asking if we can change our second choice campsite to be safe....

Aha that could be a problem! Ive allready put Houx Annexe down as the second choice for our campsite (submitted the booking last week)....

Ive made everyone aware of the wagon, and how much sh** we could get in if its damaged, so im hoping theyve all listened! Weve had to put a £500 deposit down on it.

Our check list allready has 4 extra cold storage boxes on it! :-)

Should i change our second choice for the the campsite or wait for them to get back to me? (they are aware of the fact we have a motorhome)

Thanks!
Ben

Well ive booked us a place in 'Houx' and 'Houx Annexe' if not, so if its the second choice then the generator looks like it will come in handy! Whats the likely hood of getting into 'Houx' now? cheers

Ive booked ours via http://www.nirvanarv.com near Maidstone, 6brth for £795/week which is pretty good.....
40  Club Arnage / Help / Advice 4 Newbie Motorhome Hirer! on: October 15, 2004, 10:06:25 pm
Hello everyone,

Im after some advice and tips on camping with a 6brth motorhome that myself and 4 others have hired for 2005.

This is effectively my 6th time at Le Mans but my 3rd time camping and my 1st with a motorhome (seems a little daunting now that i think about it!), so advice would be much appreciated!

Firstly, whats the deal with running water? Can you hire a fresh water tap on site or do you just have to fill your water storage and hope for the best?

Secondly, hook-ups for electricity....how much does this cost and is it better than hiring a generator?

Thirdly, in you honest opinion, what is the best site for camping, the last year I went (99) we were in 'rouge' which seemed pretty good, although i cant remember an awful lot i was legless most of the time.

Thanks people,
Ben

So are you saying that fresh water isnt on tap anymore? or is it bring your own? cheers.

Thanks guys, looks like we are set to leave Tuesday Lunchtime.

Regarding camping, whats the deal with water supply? Last time i camped (with a tent in Camping Rouge) i recall seeing some of the motorhomes with hoses running from the water taps dotted around the camp sites.....is that a first come, first serve kind of thing, or do you have to rent the water supply??

Thanks
Ben

Hello all, how this site has changed!
44  Club Arnage / General Discussion / 2005 on: October 14, 2004, 05:54:28 pm
Hello all, so Ive booked up the 6birth motor home for next year and im slowly starting to get the plan of attack in place for our little adventure...

Just wondering what the earliest is you can arrive at the campsites?

Last time i camped in 99 we arrived Thursday but we are considering getting there alot earlier (maybe the Tuesday or Wednesday prior to the big event)

Will there be any racing on in the week before hand?

Thanks
Ben.
