Its open from 9 on the friday morning, yes it does seem to thin out a bit after about 2ish.

Thanks Jaydee. Looks like I'll have to revise my normal routine for the Friday then.....

Any idea what time it starts? The website only gives a time when the Classic Cavalcade departs for the Driver's Parade.

We did pay it a visit a few years back, but then it had the distinct feel of something that had was over and done, and that was around 14:00.
79  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Who, what where when? 2014 on: May 16, 2014, 02:08:46 pm
Team Pretzel (me and the other half).

Out Pompey - St Malo Wed. 11th 20:30 overnight ferry (plenty of opportunity for a beverage or 2)

Back Caen - Pompey Mon. 16th 16:30

Staying offsite & driving in every day.

Trusty Porsche Cayman providing the transport between home/port/hotel & parking vert.

Not long now!
80  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: One month to go ,where is everybody? on: May 15, 2014, 10:17:13 pm
Still here too, just checking in most days to see how everyone is getting on in their preparations.

As for our own, nothing much to do but wait until our ferry crossing date as no camping gear to clean/air/de-louse(or worse) etc. Will treat the Cayman to an additional coat of wax not long beforehand, as is traditional for me.

REALLY looking forward to 3 manufacturers having a go at P1 and earlier showings indicate a competitive fight. Was briefly contemplating giving it a miss this year in favour of other travel desires but the Porsche announcement soon brought me to my senses.

Also looking forward to sharing good times with the usual suspects.

Hope Neil sorts the Beast in time!

Will be interesting to see how it all plays out if the guys from Stuttgart are really competitive come the actual race, after all Porsche and Audi are effectively part of the same company. Anyone seen any comment from VAG about allowing them to REALLY race, or otherwise?

Talbot Sunbeam Lotus. 2.2 litre 150 bhp (in standard tune) Lotus engine. Also Lotus did quite a bit with the suspension etc..

Bathurst 12 hours re-run on Motors TV now if anyone is an insomniac.....
84  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: 919 in race livery on: March 05, 2014, 05:11:04 am
But what does

PORSC
INTELL
PERFO

mean to anyone

I suspect they should have made the car a few feet longer or used a smaller font Grin

The other car is liveried like this:-

HE
IGENT
RMANCE

Makes even less sense!
 Grin Grin Grin

Unless they are running closely 1-2 together at the end of the race. Would make perfect sense then :-)

What happened to the bridge??

The marketing blurb that accompanies the release of the poster states "This poster defines an area of rich expression aimed at a wide-ranging public by projecting them into a powerful and attractive imaginary environment", apart from utter bull*hit, does the 'imaginary environment' also not have to reflect the history as well?
86  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Annual Ticket Lottery begins 6th November on: November 06, 2013, 07:53:01 pm
Website still a bit of a strange experience. Had to go through our requirements more than once before being able to actually order what we wanted. Still had to order Enciente Generales separately as somehow not available on the same page as the grandstand tickets??? Fortunately our needs are not many and complex, just seats, entry and parking. Good luck to those ordering for groups.....

Now just have to look out for ferries.

Thanks for that Del. Haven't had any notification from the ACO on that yet. Mind you they sent me a membership reminder 3 weeks after I had already received my new membership cards! Here's hoping the ticketing system works a bit better  Wink

We took daughter, son-in-law and grandson (6 months) last year. The little-un certainly didn't understand much of course but seemed to enjoy the sights and sounds. Hopefully the experience will leave a little spark in his mind for the future.

Me too, as an owner and fan of the Stuttgart marque, can't wait to see how their comeback assault goes. http://www.porsche.com/microsite/mission2014-resettozero/usa.aspx#/philosophy
