The JLOC car did not turn many laps at Le Mans so this is quite a rare shot....

The tortoise was living in the garden of the house where we were staying at Le Mans. Her name is Titine and she is 50 years old!

Judging by this (hilarious) image, your photoshop skills are still pretty terrible!

Don't let Rex see this - he'll very much mis-read her name and who knows what we'll end up with!!

And Monsieur Fromage - What, may I ask, were you doing sleeping in a house, and not joining the masses on Bleu Nord??

I did a decade of staying in Bleu Nord and had a marvellous time, but then I moved to the other side of the catch fencing. Having a job to at Le Mans is not really compatible with staying on a campsite (however attractive the prospect of campsite camaraderie). I love to be at the heart of things in the press room and on the pitlane, but I also have pangs of nostalgia for the time that all I had to worry about was running out of beer!

Chateau Incomplete is still incomplete, but sadly Sylvie and Alain parted company last year and the house is up for sale. Sylvie managed to find us a new place in Yvré Le Polin this year. It is slightly more distant from the circuit but has the advantage of an indoor swimming pool.

I still think everyone has completely missed the boat on the JLOC entry and Le Mans participation.

allow me to explain.

I'm a rich Japanese businessman. I'm a member of the Japanese Lambroghini Owners Club.
I'm asked by our treasurer to pony up "X" yen for a wonderful trip to Le Mans.

So me and 50 of my best friends do just that. One of us writes a lovely letter to the ACO
asking to compete in there wonderful race. We are Japanese (they really want us there)
We have a GT1 car (ok, so it hasn't run yet, but we'll get to that) With our entry we get
tickets, a block of grandstand seats, a hospitality suite overlooking the pits, a chef, parking
spaces, etc.

so the car doesn't make practice, hey we're working here, so we don't qualify, (see french
love us above) We were on the grid and all had our pictures taken with the car. After our
first (and only lap) our entry retires, damn shame, so, up into the hospitality suite for sushi
and crepes, plenty of time to walk the grounds, a place to sit in the tribunes...

sh*t sounds like a great day at the races to me.

I don't see the problem. have you looked at the cost of a group package for 50 that includes
this kind of access??

see, really quite simple.

Yes Lee. Plus I thinks it's pretty poor form that another, more deserving team on the reserve list was deprived an entry because of the JLOC farce.

Exactly what I was thinking all week.  "Real" teams didn't get an invite or were put on the reserve list, but those Japanese "nitwits" got into the race.
I guess their wreck was on "warp-speed" when they pushed it around the scrutineering area  Roll Eyes

I hate to tell you this, but that in fact is the latest thing in  stealth aircraft from Italy!  Look at it and you will see that with all extrusins retracted, you can't tell which way it's facing.  And - it can travel just as fast backwards as forwards!! Cheesy

That's a historic Italian trait.
