So who are Corvette gonna defend their crown against?Huh

AMR have been very quiet, and the rumour mills suggests that they won't be going back.

I hear the same as you re AMR.  I notice there are literally no GT1s in the entry list for Sebring's test day - so far.  Another rumour is that Steve S would like Oreca to run a Saleen.  Nothing on the Oreca site as yet but I look daily!

Maybe the fact that Ford has put Aston Martin up for sale has impacted on race team.

I notice that in an interview with Darren Turner, SEAT have allowed him to race at Le Mans (not that you would want a car breaker like him driving!)

I wonder if AMR will just race Le Mans as a one off??

The Corvette people supposedly said they'd only be in the ALMS if there was competition and would otherwise race in the LMS.  At face value, it would seem they have some assurance of that, whatever that's worth.

Maybe the fact that Ford has put Aston Martin up for sale has impacted on race team.

Don't forget that the factory Aston Martin team was infact completely run by Prodrive. The car was provided by Aston but from what I understood no financial help was made to Prodrive.

With DR's love of Astons I am sure we will see them around for a while. And of course the DBR9 and little brother the DBRS9 have helped turn around Prodrive's Motorsport devision into a profit making departement. Last word was they can't build the cars quick enough.

For the record the only parts on a DBR9 that are common (Un-modified) with the Real DB9 are the windscreen and door handles!

Does anyone know what original parts are retained on the C6-R?

I presume the body (in carbon fibre version) and some parts of the chassis, the rest will probably be replaced by lighter & stronger parts.

I had not heard that it was only the widscreen and door handels (I wasnt that all that was left of Pug 205GTI when it became the Group B Pug 205) From what I understand the DBR9 - and the S - chassis is taken of the DB9 production line, and is pritty much standard. Oh and those wing mirrors are made up of 9 individule piece of carbon-fiber! Shocked

I know even the door handles on the Aston are different!

When I had the Aston Prodrive factory tour last year they were removing unneeded parts from the chassis.

I know even the door handles on the Aston are different!

I was told that they were they the same by the director of engineering at Prodrive last year but they may have changed them.
