19  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Modern Commer Replacement on: May 24, 2005, 01:11:32 am
 >:(well I thought I had better sort out the BMW powered CF ready for the 5am start on the 15th, am still trying to get moped boy to empty the toilet, I am sure most of the contents are his anyway, the autobox has been playing up since a toll booth drag race last year so I have decided to change it, should only take a skilled mechanic a few hours, might just get it ready in time,

20  Club Arnage / General Discussion / ryanair users? on: May 20, 2005, 09:47:27 am
Hi, anyone out there a regular Ryanair user, I am trying to book flights to Riga and cannot work out how to get the cheapies, have been looking every day but the travel period hasen't moved past 14th July, I want to return on the 19th, I have booked overpriced outbound flights and want to balance these with cheap returns, how many £9.99 do they offer etc and when? I feel a shafting is about to happen and my cheap long weekend in Riga is going to cost me more than a tank of unleaded.  Pat

24  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:french moped insurance on: May 17, 2005, 01:17:52 am
yes sorry about moped boy, he is 14 on the 14th June and very excited about this trip to LM, his third, he usually has his birthday when I am there, nearly his birth, I think the race was late that year! has been the cause of a few discusions over the years, his birthday being the race week, anyone care to guess the date for next years race? I have been invited to a wedding on the 17th June 2006!!!!!!! bugger,

   Pat
25  Club Arnage / General Discussion / french moped insurance on: May 16, 2005, 09:50:26 pm
Hi Gilles, what are the chances of getting insurance for a 14 year old to ride a 49cc moped in France? I expect the lack of a French address and French ID will be a major problem? I am just trying to do it the right way, (for a change) thanks,  Pat
26  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:49cc moped on: May 02, 2005, 11:44:15 am
Hi Gilles, thanks for the reply, we have an Aprillia 49cc year 2000 twist and go, my son will be 14 on the 14th and is pestering me to be able to ride it, I know all the down sides being a motorcyclist myself, we are also bringing two honda 90's and the 1941 Matchless G3l army bike, whilst we are all covered by medical ins. I don't think an english ins. co. will be interested in covering a 14 year old,

so, is insurance a legal requirement for the 49cc,
does the moped need any paperwork,
does the rider need any paperwork (other than proof of age)

  Many thanks   Pat Gill (es)

Hi, For many years I would land the old kite at LM airport and get a taxi to whatever camp site I fancied and just walk in with my tent and tooth brush, you can't get much else in a cessna, just had to buy a general entrance ticket, Pat

A question for one of our French members, what are the rules  regarding the 49cc twist and go mopeds that you see without numberplates, what are the French laws for machine and rider?  thanks,   Pat.

usually baggy long kakhi shorts, leather flying helmet or the metal DR helmet and gauntlets shown in the picture,

Do you need an escort, not that type, genuine 1941 army Matchless with rider will be in Tertre Rouge from Wednesday evening, this picture from 2001, let me know,   Pat:)
