16  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: The Official "I'm Outta Here" Thread... on: June 13, 2006, 09:12:07 pm
Right I'm off to a mates to await pickup early tomorrow & meeting our 2 other cars at Dover for the 7am Speedferries sailing.

Aiming to be in Houx Annexe for 3pm ish, keeping an eye out for Steve Brown & his group on the way down!!

Safe journey to all & those who aren't going no dodgy posts while the mods are away!! Wink
17  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: CA Le Mans Guide 2006 ready for download! on: June 08, 2006, 04:06:22 pm
Great showing by all involved!! There's loads of really good info, up to date too Cheesy
A copy is going out to all that are travelling with me!!

The only problem is going to be topping it next year... Wink

I think one of our illustrious mods should sticky this topic post-haste!!

18  Club Arnage / Race reports and pictures / Re: Boullion INJURED - OUT for Le Mans on: June 08, 2006, 02:10:02 pm
Wasn't Seb Loeb in that one?

Not quite, Loeb is in the second Pescarolo entry with Franck Montagny & Eric Helary.
It should be quite interesting to see how they stack up against the more conventional sportscar racers in the other car!!
19  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Taking Beer Into The Track On Foot - Problem? on: June 07, 2006, 11:58:59 am
If there are problems they can be resolved by offering the tickets inspector one of two of the said beers!

I hear sometimes that very same trick helps lower the approximation of your taxable income.. Roll Eyes
20  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Important driver changes on: June 06, 2006, 07:23:40 pm
Well seeing as how it's somewhat on topic plan for this site Wink  and I've finally managed to catch up with most of todays posts (damn work Angry )

Has anyone else spotted the report that Bouchut is out of Henri's motor?? The team thought he didn't get up to speed on Sunday. Nic Minassian has been released by Creation to race with Collard & Comas in the no16 Pescarolo for the race.

Jamie Campbell-Walter is taking the spare seat in the Creation, so I have no idea where this leaves Bouchut & Piquet Jr?? Autosport didn't mention it at any rate...

Interesting point made here, as there may be a no alcohol thing on the back of the tickets?? (there usually is for these things)

Every year we carry at least a couple of crates (the Kronenbourg's have an easy carry handle I seem to remember...) with us to drink trackside, we've never had anyone so much as question us.

Last year we actually took a small trolley stacked up as well & wheeled it past "ticket inspectors" Thurs/Sat & Sun through different gates with no problems. Grin

Though if you're staying on MB isn't this a moot point as you're already inside the circuit?? Huh
22  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: The (Unrelated To Le Mans) Joke Thread on: May 26, 2006, 06:10:22 pm
I'm sorry it's not a conventional joke, but this auction on a certain site is just too damn funny!!

23  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Pre LM meet up, Norwich? on: May 26, 2006, 03:03:42 pm
Righto,

Seeing as how a bunch of the regulars had a bit of a session on the wrong side of the Watford Gap... Tongue

Hows about we try one for those in the East of the country?? I was thinking maybe a few quiet Roll Eyes pints next weekend, then at least we stand a chance of knowing a few more people at the poo bar!!

For my sake I'm calling Norwich for a location as there's quite a few pubs here Wink Trains here aren't too bad & I'm sure arrangements can be made if anyone is travelling a distance!! I know there's a few of you round this area so who's game?? Or maybe there's a better location??
24  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Don't Go Speeding In France! on: May 23, 2006, 05:40:59 pm
On my road trip over the weekend I had a look at this months Evo at a petrol station (always an interesting read, shame I didn't have any change)

The editors foreword(?) mentioned one of the road tests being cut short by the driver being clocked at 40km/h over the limit, he got an immediate 15 day ban in France & had to fly home & another guy had to fly over to pick up the car (an AMG Merc if I recall correctly) I may be glad I'm not currently due to be driving this year... Roll Eyes

There's a link to a similar discussion on the PH forum...

There was an Audi R10 article with some  Wink Se6r1n9  Wink stuff & a "Le Mans preview" in there too, didn't have time to flick through them, may pick it up for some light reading in 3 weeks time...
25  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Coolboxes on: May 18, 2006, 05:13:02 pm
Probably 'chill' it with cheap frozen veg and / or ice. (Is there an ice van / man that does the rounds, that isn't TOO expensive?

We always pick up a new "cheap" cool box & take it to the fish counter for some free fresh ice from the industrial ice making machine. It keeps us going until the weekend Grin

Not that I'm trying to the twisted alternate version of this thread off the front page!! Wink

27  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: LM 2006 - 24 Hours - Official Program of Events on: May 17, 2006, 03:55:30 pm
As the start is at 1700 and the concert is at 2100. Should we move the poo bar meet to anther time.

You know what Rick, I thought the same but only having a full member & not being a god I thought I'd avoid mentioning it Lips Sealed

However as good as the Charlatans are I think the meet at the "poo bar" takes priority. Maybe we could just move it to a location nearer the stage?? Especially if the old location is a building site in 30 days time...anyone??

Any ideas where is this "gig" likely to take place?? Over where Jamiroquai played a few years back??
28  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Tickets Have Arrived on: May 12, 2006, 07:20:46 pm
does anyone know what they'll do with them if there's no one around?

I think it really depends on the delivery person, my tickets go to my folks house (I moved out a few years back but am too afraid to change the order just in case!! Embarrassed )

Using the online tracking this year it said they'd been signed for by the old man, so I rang up that night & apparently they'd just left the package behind a plant pot on the doorstep, some people!!

So you might get back from Spa & find you've gotta arrange a re-delivery (I'd guess they'd keep it for 1 week), or you may just find the package through the door, or possibly round at the neighbours??
29  Club Arnage / 2007 and earlier / Re: spare seat from greater london on: May 12, 2006, 07:00:07 pm
Scotto,

I'd try looking about the General Discussion area of the forum to see what other US visitors are doing (I guess you're in the US with that country code...)
You may find a few others will be travelling down at a similar time & are either getting the train down to LM or hiring a car (I think I read that somewhere on here??) in which case you can maybe ask if there's spare room to join them!!

Just a thought as I've no spare seat I'm afraid (I need a damn vehicle to travel in first!!)

You Always Bring Beer would be my best guess Wink

I'm going to avoid guessing the correct answer for fear of being earmarked as a geek if I get it right!! Roll Eyes
