1  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Early Maison Blanche Campsite Report on: June 13, 2005, 07:17:34 pm
At 17.00 Sunday 12 June situation was looking grim for some of the hardened regular early arrivals in the larger vehicles as the gates to the site remained firmly shut and heavily fortified.....

However, such dignitaries (!) as the Liverpool Boys had no such problems and were waived merrily through their entrance of choice and headed down to the campsite to begin their erections.......

But then after much scouting and recce missions (not to mention covert and prolific use of mobile phones) other ways and means were found to get on to the hallowed MB turf...and the rest of the usual Sunday suspects arrived slowly but surely, gab, Smokie, Popemobile and others..

MrRS2babe cleverly disguised the RS2 as a white French registered Peugot 205 to avoid any problems on entry to the circuit..it was close but he made it..

Award for cordoning off the highest ever percentage of the campsite must go to Ferrari Spider in preparation for arrival of JP Chenet and Cutler crews - if anyone is planning to arrive after tonight you'll probably have to pay them an extra admission fee because they'll own half the site!

Liverpool Boys highly organised and efficient as always and well close to having everything up and running within an hour of arrival - but then catastrophe..the generator gave up the ghost. A plug spanner was searched for in vain so an executive decision was made for a beer break to consider the options (and wait for someone to turn up with one!).

It was also learned/realised by a certain individual (who I'll save the embarassment of naming....yet) that as the camp site is closed until Monday it means all the bogs are too.................so all look very carefully when pitching your tents........

....and me..........I just delivered the swimming pool......

see you all v soon!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know I was stuck on the M25 this pm and was thinking about that incident and trying to work out how I could top for you it this year. I've bought a new tin of shaving foam and have devised a Santa hat with a "bell on the end".  Huh You'll love it mate!

Erm I've changed my mind - I don't think I can make it this year after all .............

I can't afford the counselling sessions.....

Hi Chris

Not sure on exact arrival day/time yet (work is a bloody nightmare at the moment) but we'll make it one way shape or form......presently still expecting to come down on the scooter again all being well so I may set off tomorrow!!

see you soon
11  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Test weekend 2005 on: June 06, 2005, 03:16:03 pm
ah yes.....to those that remember us we are still just about alive and kicking  - once a lurker always a lurker I suppose...

only decided to head to the track on Friday but it'd be rude not to when you live so close really! Also, test weekend being a lot quieter is always not as heavily marshalled. Last year got into all the garages and met quite a few drivers and managed to get to the side of the track at Porsche Curves. Yesterday afternoon did a little recce to Bar des Haunadiers - it was closed but some fool/hero had left the access gate by the side of the bar unlocked so we boldly walked through and into the car park for an excellent view of everyone blasting past at 200mph......

good to see you again Smokie and look forward to seeing everyone else v soon! - Brian Liverpool Boys look out for a personal mail soonish..........

a bientot

MrRS2babe (or perhaps as should be know for this year Mrwhitepeugot205babe)!!!

Jus read the thread - posting "quotes" is far too technically advanced for me but have the following responses:

1. Mr & Mrs RS2 are definitely planning on being there - no excuse not to really is there. RS2 may be gone by then though - but I've being saying that since January!
2. Scooter (yes there and back- bloody SNCF) was good but once a year is enough I think!!
3. Probably can't get any extra time off so will arrive Friday night or Sat morning.
4. Happy to accomodate anyone on way there/back (as long as Mr Zarse leaves my shaving foam alone this time!!) - but is really only useful for anyone travelling via St. Malo. - (We had Canada Phil and daughter stay with us last Sunday)
5. As for your meeting on Thursday - isn't there a little footy match on Huh

cheers
Simon.

was that Mr Zarse? - I didn't even realise

.....if I'd known that I would have ran away very quickly..........it was frightening enough as it was...i'm still having nightmares about it although Mrs RS2 seemed quietly impressed !!!
14  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:The I'm Back thread on: June 15, 2004, 03:08:04 pm
arrived back at 18.00 yesterday after ANOTHER moped ride home!!!

note - don't try and take a moped on the train - they won't let you !! - sh*t !!

me & mrsrs2 very fortunate to be in the Liverpool Boys site where everyone always drops in so great to see everyone again. The poo bar was also excellent with so many people in the T shirts -still did not get to meet/recognise half of you.

And yes JP Chenet the invite is open to come on over whenever you wish - the same goes for any CA member - just let us know.........

setting up camp on Sunday only to go home and back to work for 2 days before enjoying the festivities......definitely staying all week next year.

A 4 hour scooter ride topping out at a whopping 50mph down a steep hill, with the bike sounding like a strained hair dryer and realising just before the sharp right hander that brakes on mopeds aren't really that effective at that speed.........

the Thursday night informal gathering at the Liverpool Boys site including Stu's card tricks and fire breathing lessons....

Emergency Chilli sauce dash by our late arrivals on Friday following my unfortunate breakage of existing chilli sauce outside Buffalo Grill on Thursday after MrsRS2 insisted we take it to supplement her nosh...

the list could go on and on........

it was the best - how are we going to top it next year?
