"I found out earlier that Norm Koury "Itsadryrain" is in the ICU at St. Luke's Hospital Jacksonville. He is having serious issues with both his liver and renal system and was admitted yesterday evening. He is stable at this point and the staff is awaiting the results of a battery of tests to figure out a course of action. His sister is on her way from Jersey and should arrive this evening, I don't have anything else but will update this thread as info becomes available.
Stay strong Norm, you can make it through this! "
Norm was the person that first invited me into Turn 10, so stay strong buddy, Turn 10 won't be the same without you. Get well soon.
Regards
Chris

Just read on FB that Norm slipped into a coma last night. He needs some prayers now more then ever..... :'(
-
Wow - let me add my thoughts. Not met Norm before but any friend of CA is a friend of mine.
All the best fella, hope you pull through!

From Facebook
Updates from facebook:
Sandra Laramy: Norm is on life-support. If he codes again his sister will discontinue.
Lee Self: Norm is very bad. slipped into a coma last night. I'm on my way up to Jax -Lee
Lee Self: This is Jerri. Lee is on his way to Jacksonville. By all indications Norm will be moving on by the end of the day. I wanted everyone to have a chance to send their love into the ether while he is still with us. Friends will be with him. You can call me, I'm home, holding down the fort. Sigh
not good at all, just a matter of time :-[
I'm sure everyone thoughts are with him, familey and friends

this is so sad....
-
Hope people don't mind me posting this on here, but if it helps to put a face to the name for those that haven't met such a colourful character. Its only a matter of time now before Norm is watching the greats racing in the sky.
We will have to make Sebring a celebration of his life rather than be sad.
-
A tragic shame.
-
Poor Norm, I'm both shocked and saddened by this. I had a long and wide ranging, almost random, converstaion with him at Sebring last year. We were both crying with laughter at the end.
-
Just read a message from Lee saying that he called the hospital this morning and Norm had passed away at 1am EST.
RIP my friend!
-
Sad news.
RIP Norm
-
RIP Norm. I will always remember the warm and friendly welcome you gave me on my visits to Sebring. Turn 10 won't be the same without you :'( :'( :'(
-
sh*t...
RIP Norm and God(s) Bless..
-
RIP Norm, you were I friend that I will never forget, as Bob U has said, Turn 10 will not be the same without you, but we will certainly have a big party to celebrate your life on the Thursday night at Sebring and see you off in a way that you would approve of.
Enjoy the big race in the sky.

Not made it to Sebring to meet the Turn 10 crew, but I do follow the goings on and hilarity with envy for those able to make the season opener that whets the appetite for June at La Sarthe. And I am always sad at such news about someone who was so obviously at the centre of things there - as Toby said earlier, a friend of CA is a friend of us all, and my thoughts go out to all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

To my mind - the above post sums things up perfectly.
RIP Norm - not someone I've had the pleasure of meeting, but may you revel in the big racetrack in the sky - we'll be raising our collective glasses to you at the big racetrack on the ground both now, and come June.
-
RIP Norm.
I shall never forget your wonderful sense of humour. You will truly be missed.

I echo these sad messages
Like Mark I would always read the events of Sebring as the start of the season
I feel I have missed meeting a great guy
God bless him
A sad time for his family and friends

Thanks all,
We, (Norms racing family), really appreciate your sentiments.
He will truly be missed. 8)
