just had a check can't see it's any different to the 55 euro's I paid. wonder if it's 30% off the on the day price ???

I checked on their web site a few days ago, and the price was more than 55 euros - can't rember how much it was.
Anyway, good call and I've just reserved one

Last year they did work on BN.
IIRC, you get at least one spare battery with you, and can exchange empty ones as often as you wish. No idea on how long the battery wil last.

I heard they last around 6 hours so at least 3 pit stops for the race

Whoops, maybe I should have checked the coverage map before ordering as it appears the coverage only covers a small part of Expo which is where I am camping.
Ah well.

I had to e-mail the Kangaroo lot and they were very helpful so I suggested they log on here to answer any questions about the kit etc. A guy called Craig may thus pop up on here shortly.

Thanks for all the interest in Kangaroo TV at Lemans 24h.
Deb let me know about this thread so I wanted to jump on and answer your questions...

- each rental includes use from Wednesday to Sunday. You can collect your unit as soon as the gates open on Wednesday
- We have full coverage of practice, qualifying and race
Save up to 30%
- the rental cost has been reduced by over 30% from last year. In 2009 a unit rental was 80eu, this year it is only 55eu.
- Generally the price to rent a unit onsite is more expensive than pre-reserving. That said the onsite price for 2010 is still TBD but it will not be less than 55eu.

- Yes, we have excellent coverage at Bleu Nord
- Our coverage map can be found on our website at http://kangaroo.tv/kangaroo-sports/lemans.php
- We guarantee excellent reception within the highlighted areas of the coverage map. Outside of that you can still receive good signal just not excellent i.e. Last year Porsche curves had good coverage although it was not highlighted on the coverage map.

-Batteries last up to 6 hours and you can swap exhausted batteries for a fresh one at either of our kiosk locations
- With every unit rental we provide a spare battery, battery charger and earphones

If I have prebooked a unit what do I need to take with me to pick it up? Do I need to find my reservation email?

I've gotten a barcode mailed after reservation, and on that it states 'bring this barcode, a valid Credit Card (Mastercard, Visa or American Express) and Identification to a Kangaroo TV kiosk'

I don't seem to be able to get that far. Have registered, gone through the process but nothing tells me my request has been accepted.

our main kiosk will be in the same spot as usual in the main vending area. Where still waiting on confirmation for the location of the second kiosk. Once both have been confirmed we'll send out an email with a map.

Yes please print the email confirmation and bring it with you to collect your unit. There should be a bar code in the email which we need to scan. FYI...if you forget/lose your email confirmation it is not a big deal as your name is recorded in our pos system.

Just ordered mine after seeing this thread and suspect I have typed in my wrong email address (I know, I know) so don;t have the confirmation email.

To try and keep this thread remotely on topic, we have reserved a KangarooTV unit just like last year. ;)

And I'm leaving it up to you lot to keep my glass well over half full.
Kangaroo ordered. :) On which subject, I think Craig and his folk have been great in their response to our questions and problems. Nice to be treated well even whilst your being hit in the wallet!
