In amidst all of the stuff that is going on now, while we support and deliver to meet current operations, and deal with trying to make it all work within a desperately strangled budget, this is very sad to say the least http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8707680.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8707680.stm).. my thoughts are with his family, and we have lost a good 'un.....

A true warrior lost, a great shame.
My condolences to all that knew him.

Sad news indeed. Obviously not just a leader but a doer as well. I believe it was a charity event is there a Just giving page or similar?
RIP.

A sad loss Mark
Not a man who wasted his life and one who did more than required for all.
Prayers and condolences here too

Got told on arriving in work this morning, I had previously worked for him and a sad loss at an indecently early age.

Thanks chaps - all rather strange today here, with the feeling of loss of a good man at the top level, who was passionate through and through about the RAF, its values and what it stands for, and its people, with sadness across the Headquarters. A rather poignant short memorial service held this afternoon in the open air outside the Headquarters was followed at close of play by the time-honoured and traditional way of remembrance in the Mess.
