Someone's set up a Facebook campaign to get Brian Blessed to voice a satnav, and the manufacturers have said if they reach 25,000 members they'll do it!

As long as he 's not on the vodka before he records it it would be brilliant.
If he is on the booze then it will be like Jo map reading.
Jo: Turn right,
Jo: Why did you turn that way?
Barry: 'Cos you said right.
Jo: Well I meant left.
Barry picks up map ' Where are we?'
Jo: I'm not sure, somewhere around here.

Question to think about over the weekend.
Why do women turn maps upside down to read them?
And do our friends who bat for the other side do the same?

Rule No. 1 for successful driving amongst married couples : You drive, he navigates (you can put up with his b*tching about your driving but at least he can't b*tch about your map reading skills and if you get lost, it's his fault.)

Apparently it's to do with spatial awareness. The part of the brain that deals with this is (generally) more advanced in the male of the species. Thus we can continue to process the logic of lefts and rights as we are better able to visualise the direction of travel on the map without spinning it round. It's the same reason that men are (generally) better at reverse parking and juding what gaps we can get through etc.
Anyway, that's what some bloke down the pub told me.

But if you turn a map upside down, then doesn't North go to the wrong place? I've never understood the concept myself, but thanks Mr Beemer for explaining all about us girlies....
