Since this is my first Classic there are lots of things I don't know.
As a member if you attend the 24 Heures you get sent the Program, Results and so on after the Event.
Do they do the same with the Classic?
Do they put up the Green tarp by the Resturants for the Classic? I'd really like to see the 917s and GT40s along there.
Can you wander around the Paddock on Saturday and Sunday?

Not sure on the first two, I'm not a ACO member so don't get no box. Green fence? Never made it that far (we have Martin to look after).
As for roaming the paddock, yeah, anytime you like. You can walk round at three in the morning on the Friday if you want to-we did four years ago and you would be surprised how many other people had the same idea. It's very laid back- we even watched the end of the final race from the pit wall that year!

Green fence, look after me I do not think so...
Walking around at three in the morning... if I remember correctly I had to stay behind as camp security and keep everyone away with my snoring... I agree with the laid back bit but do not remember the pit wall... perhaps I was doing the security bit again...

Never had a pack post Classic yet, so I'd have to say no on that one.
Last time we went down to the chinese for the Classic there was the usual green tarp. Sadly.
Allegedly you need a ticket to get into the paddocks, but then who knows how well they will police it this year!

I think it was the 2006 Classic Martin not the last one when we got into the pits. If I remember correctly we stayed on Karting Nord that year and did not enjoy your wonderful company. Myself and JT were in full on 'Stalk Vanina' mode at the time and even got into the drivers enclosure after the finish.
As for the security this year, I expect a tightening as it's going to be a bigger event. The word is spreading and there is no Goodwood clash. Campsites sold out really quick, in fact they have opened up Beausejour this year for the first time. My guess is around 140,000 spectators will be there which is much higher than in previous years??

in fact they have opened up Beausejour this year for the first time.
I'm sure it was open in 2008 because I took a stroll and made use of the facilities while a group of us were at the Porsche Curves watching the racing.

I dont think Bleu was officially open at the last Classic.
I went over there during the Classic 2008 to take some photos for the CA guide and Bleu Sud was completely empty and Bleu Nord only had a handful of people on it but no toilets/showers.

In 08 you where free to roam the paddocks, no tickets where shown during the time we went in. Do seem to recall it was an option to buy them.
It was a wonderful laid back event without the hassles that go with the main event, better than any other classic meeting I have ever been to.
fantastic cars the only thing I would say is that the older cars look very slow and even the newest class only maybe 10%-20% are driven hard. No disrespect to the owners or drivers as they are normally priceless cars driven carefully in the manor I would!

Funny set up this year. I bought a Paddock Pass but not once was I asked to show it. We also sat in the grandstands on Saturday night, again without having shown a pass (which was handy as we didn't have any).

Only time I saw Paddock access tickets being checked was on Friday at the top of the steps down to the paddock from the southern end of the new posh bit of the village (permanent shops bit) - otherwise it seemed a free for all ;)

Mine was checked Saturday evening coming down from the Village (just before I got lost looking for a phantom tartiflette stall that wasnt there!).
BTW does anyone remember the name of the stall that had the car-related sculptures that was on the right side about halfway down the main road through the paddock (walking from Village end towards tunnel)?
