Title: Back to Blighty Post by: Doris on October 28, 2010, 06:21:49 am As I have practically no access to facebook at the moment please forgive me for intruding with something that has nothing to do with motorsport but everything to do with me being back in Blighty for a limited period of time over Dec / Jan...
Part of the plan while I'm back in England is to catch a few London Irish games and the more the merrier I think. So if anyone is interested in joining me (and others) at either of LI's home games let me know. v Bath 1st Jan v Ospreys 14/15/16 Jan (tbc) It would be great to catch up with as many of you fine people while I'm back so even if you can't / dont' want to make the rugby let's see if we can't arrange drinks somewhere. Dx Title: Re: Back to Blighty Post by: knetter on October 28, 2010, 01:09:28 pm Hi Doris,
Drinks in London in the weekend from 10th-13th of december perhaps? Title: Re: Back to Blighty Post by: Doris on October 28, 2010, 09:24:16 pm Sadly not Roy. I won't be arriving until Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
I will be around until mid Jan though. Maybe I could pop across to the Netherlands for a short trip... Dx Title: Re: Back to Blighty Post by: mgmark on October 29, 2010, 12:26:05 am Doris,
It would truly be a genuine delight to see you, whether its LM weekend or not, and I hope to catch up then (even if you are coming back to civilisation outside the June window). If not, even as a Luddite who has yet to work out the technical complexities of the Facebook thing (work/life/age balance issue in that respect), I do trust that all is well with you in the Antipodes and that the first batch of complimentary bottles of Chateau Doris is, as I type, winging its way to UK pour un CA degustation..... ;D MG Mark Title: Re: Back to Blighty Post by: Doris on October 29, 2010, 05:09:31 am ... and that the first batch of complimentary bottles of Chateau Doris is, as I type, winging its way to UK pour un CA degustation..... ;D MG Mark Sadly not, Mark. The first batch of Chateau Doris won't be bottled until the New Year. It was attended to yesterday and is now sitting in cold storage where it shall stay until January at the earliest (although February is more likely). Do not fear though - once it's bottled there will be a few bottles winging their way across the globe to the great and good of CA (and Brad just to shut him up - love you really Bradders :-* ). If I say yes, do you promise to drag me to the pub every night where I shall be forced to drink at least one of their lovey ciders or perries? Dx Title: Re: Back to Blighty Post by: Andy Zarse on November 01, 2010, 09:51:12 am Who knows, Doris? I expect we could pop up there to try a few, what possible harm could it do?
Title: Re: Back to Blighty Post by: Brad Zarse on November 01, 2010, 11:39:40 am Brilliant! I shall starting saving up brownie points now... by January I might even have a positive balance >:D

Title: Re: Back to Blighty Post by: Mr. Rick on November 01, 2010, 03:26:16 pm Would be rather fab to attend the Bath game (wearing my Bath shirt of course!). It's in the diary, me plus girlie :) Just hope we've got Butch back by then or fear there might be a cricket score against us the way your boys are playing at the mo!

The first batch of Chateau Doris won't be bottled until the New Year. It was attended to yesterday and is now sitting in cold storage where it shall stay until January at the earliest (although February is more likely). Dx Doubtless, it is essential that the the full complexity of the raspberry nose with after hints of plum, overlaid with a whiff of vanilla and a hint of Castrol GTX, underpinned by solid foundations of glycol and a faint wisp of Big H's unguents, is allowed to develop gently, so as to enjoy this exciting wine from a fresh new vineyard at its best. Well, that and because you know a lot more about actually producing the stuff than the rest of us put together...so we shall just have to exercise those little known (only because they are so rarely exercised) CA qualities of restraint and patience.... ;) We await with eager anticipation!
