Title: Silverstone Classic Post by: Lord Steve on July 17, 2012, 08:07:58 am Is anyone going to the classic this year? Ade, Pete and I are on Woodlands campsite from Friday early afternoon if anyone fancies a beer or two.

Title: Re: Silverstone Classic Post by: Lazy B'stard on July 19, 2012, 09:37:18 am I'm planning on being there next year. Hopefully on the other side of the catch fencing. ;D
Title: Re: Silverstone Classic Post by: garyfrogeye on July 19, 2012, 11:26:36 am I should be there on Saturday but I won't be leaving London until 10.00am. Will you be wearing your Club Arnage Polo shirt agian this year steve?
I'll be parked with the Midget and Sprites on the inner field. Title: Re: Silverstone Classic Post by: garyfrogeye on July 22, 2012, 09:46:08 am Although I was only there for half a day, It was really good. I had a good chat with Lord Steve and Adrian (also their friend whose name I didn't get). Great cars and this year the added bonus of no traffic jams (at least for me anyway). I've also got sunburned!
Title: Re: Silverstone Classic Post by: Lord Steve on July 27, 2012, 09:46:22 am Great weekend had by Adrian, Pete and I. Good to meet Gary with his totally groady Frogeye. What an excellent machine and my mate (Pete by the way Gary) has been spurred into action to get his Midget back on the road. Friday was damp and Woodlands was very wet but it all dried up on Saturday.
We were all a bit disappointed with the Group C boys on Saturday night - bit of a non-event procession. Anyway, good news is that from 3rd Sept I'm employed again after a three month holiday since redundancy. The even better news is that my new boss has his own classics racing team running a Lotus Cortina and 3 litre Capri amongst other machinery. Si - intrigued by your "other side of the catch fencing" comment about next year. Are you planning on racing? Title: Re: Silverstone Classic Post by: garyfrogeye on July 27, 2012, 11:09:28 am I've just checked what groady means on the urban dictionary and none of the descriptions sound that good. However, I'm assuming that you meant it in a good way as in "Ratty".
I'm just not "down with the kids" like you steve ;D Title: Re: Silverstone Classic Post by: Lord Steve on July 28, 2012, 10:44:34 am Ha ha Gary!! I was using the "like, totally groady Dude" = excellent context.
Like a surfer describes the ultimate wave as "totally tubular", the Frogeye is totally groady. Have I gone off script a bit? I liked it anyway! Steve |
