This being he European Le Mans Series, maybe it should read « turkey » instead of « turnkey » season. I thought it looked like good value until I saw the ELMS bit. The local Autotest Series has more appeal than the ELMS at the moment. ;D Title: Re: If you have €180,000 burning a hole in your pocket... Post by: mgmark on November 20, 2012, 10:48:14 pm Aside from the value (or otherwise) of racing in ELMS and in what seems to be an '09 chassis, assuming 5 races at 6 hours apiece = 30 hours, with a two person team = 15 hours of racing, plus say 5 hours of qualifying, so 20 hours at 180k euros = £145k = £7,250 an hour.

They will be there because of their fiscal prowess rather than talent ( just like 92% of the drivers at Le Mans Classic, which was a sight to behold).
So just like the historic motor racing world, you will get some chinless wonder who thinks it might be spiffing good fun to go and play racing driver, what what! I hope to god those 456 Italia driving bell ends on Made in Chelsea don't hear of this. |
