Last year, our group (Flying Baguettes) appreciated the shared Hot Spot from a friends phone. Not sure he really wants another large data bill from a load of drunken 'mates'.
I did set about trying to get a data sim, but found it a touch difficult.
I have an unlocked MiFu device, and was looking for a Pay as You Go 1GB or more limited time service.
Any pointers please ?

They're not cheap, but
http://www.dataroam.co.uk/products/data-sim-card-france (http://www.dataroam.co.uk/products/data-sim-card-france)
....they do what you're looking for, but at £15 + data at .25 per mb, you're better off using your UK sim. For the £50 solution, you'd need to use a fair whack of data before you broke even - just depends what you want the data service for I guess - if you're going to be streaming 000's of Mb, then it might be worth it. Personally, I'll head to McDonalds when I want to Skype my son, and will live without facebook or email for the week :)

SFR has got prepaid cards. I've been using a dongle and sim for several years now, just have to purchase a code at the beginning of the week to load up new credit and I'm good to go.

I found this after posting here :
http://boutique.orange.fr/ESHOP_mx_orange/?tp=F&ref=54848&IDCible=1&type=11&donnee_appel=ORESH
Probably easier to get one of these via a colleague in our Paris office.
If not, the solution is a Pay per Day charge, which sorts me out OK, but does not solve the rest of the guys data needs.

O2 data charges are £1.99 per day for 25mb from memory if that helps

Orange MyFi now obtained with a 2GB Sim.
We also found this : http://www.holidayphone.co.uk/payg-prepaid-sim-card-france.html?gclid=CIvVp_bZ3rcCFYii4AodCG0AHg
Both the Orange service and the above card will be tested by the Flying Baguettes next week. We will report back on how they performed.

At the team we're using an Orange portable hotspot.
Works reasonably well, als long as you're not connecting with too many people at the same time.

The team I'm working for has a mobile wifi acces point from Orange France.
Works not too bad, as long as there are'nt too much devices connected (maximum 8).

If anyone is on 3 they have a 'Euro internet pass' it's £5/day for unlimited data, so expensive but easier than sorting another data sim
