This weekend test session ended with Porsche leading the times followed by Audi then Toyota

However a lot probably depends on who was doing testing for what and who maybe sandbagging. Hopefully it shows the 919 is at least on the pace.
Roll on June.

I feel that in the era of hybrids and hybrid regulations, outright lap times are of diminishing importance. The key things will be fuel efficiency and reliability. The Porsche 919 clearly has the pace, but does it have the consumption figures and durability?

What happened to racing??? :(
-
Long distance sports car racing has always been about class battles and strategy rather than wheel to wheel racing.
Clearly positive that the Porsche is on the pace from the start, it has done a lot of testing miles so fingers crossed it will be reliable as well.
In outright pace the Toyota was lagging a bit, but until they race it won't be known if it can run longer for less.

Porsche aren't going to field a car that isn't competitive so that they don't damage their hard-won reputation.
Audi won't give up easily.
Not long now 'til we see them in action on April 20th 8)
Anyone got a weather forecast yet?

Anyone got a weather forecast yet?
Silvo in April... probably chilly and wet with possible sunny periods. Spa will be wet, because... well it always rains at Spa doesn't it?

Not last year, GF, it was glorious!
We were forced to drink cold Jupiler just to keep cool.
Honest!

Will be interesting to see how it all plays out if the guys from Stuttgart are really competitive come the actual race, after all Porsche and Audi are effectively part of the same company. Anyone seen any comment from VAG about allowing them to REALLY race, or otherwise?

Porsche looked good all weekend, Hartley did well to set the fastest time overall, especially at night. But, it was 'only' testing so Silverstone will be interesting. Here's a couple of pix from the test.
