Hi all, just wondering if you've all been allocated your camping passes yet???
I was notified of my application(I applied in June in the ACO compound?)had been received.....but there the trail ends.I know it's only a fax or phone call away but ,why not use the club Arnage web site??
I'm still a member of the ACO at least upto the end of November 2003.Regards to all Rex L. :-[

Nothing heard here, either about my personal request or the CA allocation request
-
I have a had a verbal confirmation for additional car parking passes only.
-
I too did the usual post race application at the offices on the Monday and only received my confirmation this morning - bit of a hike in some of the prices tho'!!! :o
-
Rick , cant remember looking at prices . Is it just the pre Wednesday early arrival prices going up , or is it everything ( bearing in mind inflation )
Can you paste them onto this thread .
i am sure they are on this site somewhere , but i am a terrible surfer.
-
The www.popemobile.co.uk crew have just had their invoice for Maison Blanche tickets.I havent though.

I'm Still Waiting too

Likewise !

I , unlike most of you arrent a member of the ACO, but wondered if members got there's first and the non ACO's last ???
-
Doubtfull, ACO members just get a bit of discount plus other car recovery type perks.
I guess it's first come first served.
I booked for 2004 on the Thursday before 2003's race in person and haven't received an invoice yet.
-
Unfortunately its not first come first served.I have booked each year at PQ and as yet have never been given MB site.Apparently those who are on their database as having had certain tickets one year, are guaranteed those same tickets the following years if they want them,
For instance Smokie and I ordered our tickets together last year,he got his and i didnt get mine.
Also when the popemobile crew chase up their order a few weeks ago, they were told dont worry, you will always have the same tickets every year...and he's just had his invoice for Maison Blanche tickets.

It all goes back to my question a few months ago , once you get the tickets you want, keep that all important customer number......
Looks like Beausejour again then :-[

Looks like Beausejour again then :-[
But you love it there ;)
-
Beausejour has improved over recent times, except they havent been able to move it close to the start/finish ;D The Danes bringing the beer tent helps, and the addition of reasonable bogs/showers with a usual pikey flunky and a frites bar helped....
I would rather not be there this year tho, but dont hold my hopes up....
-
The theory that if you had it last year you will always make the cut hasn't worked for us - we've been on Houx and Houx Annexe for many years but were twice put on the wait list even though we applied in June. Our view become that it was better to get tickets via UK agent (eg Just Tickets) - you pay a bit more, but it takes the worry out of it. We paid in full a couple of weeks ago fyi.
One less thing to go wrong we hope...Toady

Do you still have you choice of venue/ campsite , and can you post their contact details ( too lazzy to search the web or phone book )
-
Yes - lots of choice if you book with them in June - I think they get a guaranteed block of tickets from the ACO to sell on. I've heard it's a goodly share of MB these days. Not sure what might be left now, but here's a link
http://justtickets.co.uk/lemans/lemans.htm
Also if you want the other UK agents, they are all on our links page -

Best of luck! Toad

I had it last year.
And I'm hoping to get it again at Christmas.

-
No birthday then H?
-
no news yet for me either BTW, but I am not expecting any until around May!
-
Thanks Toad , i had a look , but blomin nora , those prices .
They are nearly twice as much as the ACO price, , i think i will continue with the usual story again this year , and plot up on Beasejour.....
-
Don't forget the ACO seem to have jacked up the prices somewhat this year
-
Hate to be boring but I'm going to be anyway. I have just checked with the ACO regarding Maison Blanche tickets (booked on Tuesday of raceweek, as usual) and been told:
"we have not yet allocated booking from June, but we can already that we will not be able to allocate you places in the Maison Blanche"
I guess the gist of this means time to talk to those nice, economic, suppliers of complete hostility, whoops, hospitality packages, MRI again..............
Just Tickets are reciting "All campsites are sold out at the moment"
B*gger, blast etc. etc. not again, etc.

Does that mean Smokies mega request has been accepted then ? ;D

It seems to me that the ACO don't like dealing with individuals (especially those that don't speak French), so by selling to operators it makes their lives much easier - hence I think more and more tickets will be sold in this way, each year letting down more people who have been members for many years. Call me a sad cynical old so and so, but it's my experience anyway...

I wonder.....I could become a millionaire if it has...

Oops did I say that out loud then? ;)

It's all relative - in 2002 we had to pay over £300 per plot (6m x3m) for a space on the Airtrack "VIP" campsite (it was round at Technoparc). We needed 3! - so our current deal seems just fine as a low risk low hassle investment!
-
£300 for 18 square metres!!!!!!!
Raoul, fetch me my blowtorch and pliers, we're off to drop in at Airtracks offices for tea and macaroons.

:o Quite too expensive, as long as my company was the producer of this campsite for Airtrack but not rent it at such a price...
-
Agree Gilles - but it was our only option as we were not told until May that we were not going to get our usual tickets on Houx. We live and learn. The really sad thing is that they decided to ban paddling pools the year after we brought ours along!
-
My confirmation has arrived... :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Reading the fine print, it seems that camping are open from 07 June to 13 June, but your ticket only covers 9 - 13 June.
A supplement is payable for Monday and Tuesday nights (ranges from €7 - €15 per night dependent on site)

Smokie, I guess that means Sunday arrivers will have to overnight outside the gates until Monday morning (or hopefully find the backdoor unlocked again in 2004).
-
How does the supplement work - is it per person or per vehicle (on MB)?
-

It should be per vehicle ie per ticket...
-
Smokie, did you get all that you asked for & what campsite was it?
-
I got my regular order for Maison Blanche. They seem to simply re-order what I had last year automatically, although I always make sure I write to them too confirming that I still want the same.
-
Ours is the same Smokie, we have got exactly the same as last years order. total disregard for are request for an additional 50 Maison Blanche camping passes, but never mind. Bri is now on serious countdown , God help us for the next 6 months or so ( How long exactly Bri? Go on tell us)
-
On this basis, I think I am likely (or should that be hopeful) that I'll get passes for Houx Annexe again, although we did request MB as our first choice and HA as second choice.
I know it's early but if anyone ends up with a spare MB pass for any reason can I be first on the waiting list please!! :)
-
We'll see you in HA again then JP (assuming I get my request confirmed as last year!)
-
Hopefully Steve!! Any chance of a spin in the Cobra at some stage over the weekend?? :D

I'm hoping to get my Camping reservation through, as last year we got beausejour, we've asked for Houx or MB, fingers crossed.

i will probably see you on Beausejour , as i know i wont get what i asked for.
and still waiting for the post.....
-
Anybody know what's going on at the ACO? I've just been allocated camping tickets for the site I asked for, Bleu, and not put on the waiting list. Yippee.
VIVE LA FRANCE!!
Better go start checking the camping kit. :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
-
Proof that there is a God! I wonder if they have created any new sites this year to give more capacity?
-
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Good old ACO.
Confirmation arrived this morning (not on the waiting list either)
8 camping allocations in Houx Annexe so we'll see you again JP.
ACO price 32 euro (2003 31 euro)
Normal price 37 euro (2003 price 35 euro)
Also 6 tickets for Tribune 6 Sommer (was Tribune 04)
Price 83 euro (2003 price 80 euro)
So no dramatic price increase then!
-
Well would you believe it.PM and the WANCs have been allocated Maison Blanche as requested.
Bloody great race the French!!What I wouldnt give to be spat at in the face!!My idea of 'eaven would be to be in manacles!!
At least Rick will know what the hell im talking about.

Ah well if you really want to know here goes. To our departure on June 6th 2004.

239,040 mins :D
14,342,400 seconds ;D
on your Mickey Mouse watch that is only 3,984 times Mickeys big hand goes up Minnies skirt.
Hope this makes you happy Bart.
Happy Christmas.

Bri
Trust you can reserve us our spot on the Felix's Chippy area again. We have our MB tickets and will be there on the thursday pm.
Have a pissed up Xmas mate!
Andy
-
Bri,
I must write to David Blunkett and congratulate him on the sucess of his one to one special needs education programme particularly here in the north west . you are a credit . I remember the time when you couldn't count past four. Particularly when it was your round!!
-
"Felix's chippy area"? Are you telling me there was a chippy van on MB last year?
-
Felix had enough space for a couple of chippy lorries but never showed. The space was vacant till about Friday IIRC
-
Hopefully somebody can honestly tell me not to worry yet, :) but I note that most, if not all, of those that have recieved notification are ACO members, does this mean that although I've been notified of my request for tickets as a non member I have to go on some sort of waiting list for unrequired tickets that have been sent back? ??? :'(
One other point, my original application was higher than is now needed {why do people f**k you about?} would it help my cause if I was to contact them with the amended number, which is quite a few less ::)
Your, experienced, opinions will be appreciated ;)
-
There is not a definite answer to this one.
I have been to PQ for the past 5 or 6 years and when there I have ordered tickets for the following year, therefore 13 months in advance!!Even though io'm a member I have never been given the site i requested.
In 2002 i ordered my tickets and the next day Smokie ordered his,he got what he wanted and I didnt.
In May 2003 I ordered for 2004 and against all odds,I have been offered and now paid for the tickets i requested.
As far as quantity goes,I have until this year always ordered 6 camping tickets but this year i only ordered 3,Maybe that made the difference.
Howvwer my mates who have the www.popemobile.com always get their exact requirements even to the extent that when the pope rang to check on the allocation, the ACO told him not to worry as they give him the same tickets every year, even without ordering officially.
Work that out!!

I asked for 8 camping for Houx Annexe for 2003 in 2002 and was put on the waiting list (got them in the end from the ACO).
I again asked for 8 camping for Houx Annexe for 2004 and have been allocated them.
?? ??
-
Well, I'll wait until May to hear about mine still....
I dont care - ferry is booked ;D
-
This must be a first.Tickets ordered, allocated, paid for and final confirmation and payment receipt and all before 2004 has even begun.
Love the ACO.Allez Les Bleus!!!!

WOOHOO.
We have got confirmation on our 7 EXPO camoing tickets and it looks like the bus will be back this year too!
OOO! I am getting all unnecessary at the thought of it!

STOP THE PRESSES
Postman Pat brought forth more than his usual rubbish this morning.
There it was , the letter i have been waiting for for 6 weeks , and nothing to do with T shirts.
I have been allocated my second choice-
Maison Blanche - What a bonus.
Only problem is that i dont have enough car parking tickets. I wanted 4 places , so am 2 short.
Maybe asking one of you early arrivals to book me a bit of space as not arriving till thursday lunchtime.
So anyone got 2 spare MB spaces !!!!!
-
For you Robbo, probably. Still waiting for my mates to make their minds up, but I have at least 1 spare, which now has your name on it.
How can MB only be second choice though?
-
Our confirmation for 3xMB turned up this morning too. Sorry no spares at this stage Robbo.
Threre seem to be a lot of CA'ers teams on MB this year, it could get very messy, very messy indeed.
-

My sister has a few friends who me met 3 years ago in Blue and she likes to meet up with them. Also i thought i had more chance getting Blue . So for a laugh put MB down.
In the past i always put MB down but never got it.
Ironic
Many thanks for the pass. I will enclose some dosh in the T shirts for you ??
-
Hurrah the post man brought the letter we've been waiting so long for, ACO tribune & camping Houx :) :) :)
Roll on June :) :) :)
-
Liszt,
Whats the expo site like?, like more than a few people, have not been able to get Houx Annexe so opted for Expo instead.
-
We like it. It is in a good position.
Right opposite the pub. 10 minute walk to the village 10 minutes to fun fair, so quite central. Can walk to a boulangerie in a few minutes which is another bonus.
Water is readily available but electricity is via illeagl hookup or a generator. Concrete toilet block as opposed to the portacabin stylee.
The sheds make good shelter and you can improvise a lock on them for security, if you can get one.
Ground is hard as rock. Forget tent pegs use six inch nails and a mallet. Once you are on your airbed nice and cosy.
-
For those on MB, I'd be delighted to invite CA members to the official opening of the Beck's Tower with on site Beermountain Bar! More details to follow in May... I'll circulate details once I track down Mr Disco, who seems to have gone AWOL.
Good to see the ACO seem to have come up with the goods this year as well.
-
Mr T - I've gone and booked my ferry, and forgotten all about you! Booked for Sunday morning, Dover - Calais. Can probably amend number of passengers if needed, mail me if you are travelling a la Omega
