Just seen this on Beermountain, this is more than worrying:
Dear Sir,
If you have a gas bottle securely locked connected to the caravan system, there are not problem. But it is forbidden to have other gas bottle, which are not connecting to your caravan and secured.
Best regards

Looks like I will have to bring the bonfire

Small camping gaz bottles appear to be allowed (see second item in 'allowed' list) but large propane tanks are not, unless secured in a caravan or motorhome.
As with all French regulations, the law is harsh but the application of it is generally reasonable. That is of course unless you take the pi** or you upset an official, in which case they throw the book at you with knobs on.
-
So camping gaz 909's would be ok?
Difficult to run a gas fridge or gas BBQ on anything smaller.
-
"Les appareils de camping de type barbecue à charbon ou réchaud à gaz sont
également autorisés de même que les recharges."
Disregard dodgy translation on ACO website. Here is what it actually means:
Camping equipment such as charcoal grills or gas stoves are also allowed as well as refills.
-
Just something else to hide in the car! ;)
-
I'll hide it under the bottles of beer. ::)

mess the ACO up,
take this in

Looking at this they also seem to ban trucks on the campsites. I hope the Brethren won't have trouble to get "Big Irta" on BN >:(

I've a feeling the Brethren can be quite persuasive.

With rumours over the last couple of years about beer bottles being banned, and now this, you'll be telling me they are banning tents next as the guy ropes are a trip hazard!
Although they could ban any loud music recorded post 1975 with no real complaint from me ;D
-
I'd support a ban on guy ropes, especially in the drinking zones a.k.a. campsites.

If they banned the hybrids and only allowed cars that sounded like racing cars, as opposed to the bastard children of a back-alley orgy between some electric egg whisks and a particularly horny milk float then I'd be all for that.
The hybrids are an engineering marvel, granted, but they don't have the sound of the 1958 Lister-Jaguar.

back alley orgy.what night is that on and where please.oh and is it free?

If you're lucky they might have the live sex show at the pervy tent in the village.

Pretty sure that stopped a long time ago sadly. I have a vague memory of being crammed into a converted shipping container in which there was a faint whiff of haddock. Happy days!
