Does Clarkson not need threatening with a bullet? >:D

Unusually watched one of his programmes last night - Best of TG - I think.
Gone right off the flabby faced, self opinionated chap, he is very fortunate to keep his job and prior to that I am unsure why he is still in that position anyway...
When you think about it all he does is belittle most people and vehicles along side them. His version of driving is also inferior, perhaps it is a little fun to watch but is i t all about ass-out smoking tyres?? Not in real driving/racing, unless your are a pimply 17 yr old.
I am starting to sound like Fax, just need another five or six paragraphs!! (sorry m8)

Clarkson can be amusing in print, and he is most entertaining when tearing into something or someone who richly deserves it. His problem is picking his targets badly.
On TV he is both puerile and arrogant. He drove the phenomenon of 'being-crap-on-purpose' to the comedy graveyard several series ago. The road trips and 'challenges' that were mildly amusing at first and have long since become tedious and predictable.
TG is well past sell-by date. I'm amazed at its continuing popularity. Clearly there must be enough spotty teenagers around who worship the denim clad, yellow toothed old has-been sufficient to keep it going.

James May for Prime Minister then....

James May for Prime Minister then....
I would vote for him, looking at the other options open not really surprising

The BBC cannot afford to kill the fatted calf.
TG is, IIRC, the BBC's top revenue generating programme.
And JC holds some of the rights to TG, therefore protected by the BBC's need for cash.
But if advertising were ever allowed on the BBC then.........

On his way to Le Mans with the Lotus 7 lot one year Clarkson asked if he could go on the bridge of the seacat.John the captain and one of our gang said NO he cant stand him either.John is old and likes the bald bloke Quentin something.
