Title: Goodwood
Post by: aricus654 on November 19, 2014, 12:23:01 pm
Ouch - bought my Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival tickets the other day.

Anyone else been emptying their wallets?

Tempted but too early to decide.  June will be packed already with Le Mans and 2 Foo Fighters concerts (Wembley & Werchter festival).

I've booked for the Revival (and the 73rd Members).  Wallet looking a bit weather beaten now  :'(

Steve,

Did you enjoy the "fun" on the Saturday that they went of sale to members and their systems crashed?

Is this a bit like the ACO where you can be a member and get privileges? Just for future reference.

Martini,

Yep, that's right. Lost March appears to have modelled it on the ACO membership.

Membership gives: earlier ticket access, dedicated grandstands, discounted tickets, forward parking, access to paddocks at the Revival meeting and access to members enclosure.

Which, now I've written it down, does not seem like a good deal.

There is said to be a large waiting list for membership.

My wife worked out that there are about 7 levels of privilege at Goodwood and Le Mans:

Drivers
Teams
invited guests and celebrities,
corporate sponsors,
corporate hospitality guests
ACO/Goodwood Members
Public

Must have missed that, I did it the other day and everything seemed normal on my steam powered broadband.

Be that the 73rd Members, Paul?

Is so, yes.

Excellent - we ought to arrange to meet and sink a few cold ones

Not sure I can do a third Goodwood event without the Finance Officer taking a dim view.  I will probably wait like I did last year and see what the weather brings.
