Breakfast in La Renaissance, Falaise, preceeding lunchtime arrival on Tertre Rouge, blue tent with CA flag, Mulsanne end of the site.
Sad return (I always feel downbeat on the return leg, you?) Monday 19th, 23:00 Caen - Pompey.
In only 26 days we'll be bowling up the lovely A303 toward Pompey! ;D
-
...me? I'll be driving the LR Defender with the kit in for our 2 seater friends in the group!
Years ago it was quite common to see a convoy of 2 seaters, followed by a big estate, with full length roof rack, bulging with luggage, tents, spare wheels, spare starter motors, fan belts, hoses and other parts.
Me? Out Saturday night from Newhaven, (cheap) set up camp Sunday, whilst the others roll in over the next couple of days. As for the shelter, we did set up a co-op to buy one last Friday and then found another member of the team has already bought one. So that's a few bob more for beer.

"Will probably miss some of the start and finish. "
Well people here will attest that that is common for me, but wow, what a schedule. You aren't even away from JFK for 48 hours and there is a 24h race in the middle of that!!
Impressed with your dedication/concerned at your madness (delete as appropriate!) :-)
-
Tight schedule. Will probably miss some of the start and finish.
I think that's a given!
I've done a few mad trips in the past (Spa and back in a day for the WEC, ALMS @ Mosport then ALMS @ Detroit then Silverstone 24hrs all in consecutive weekends) but JFK-LM-JFK within 48 hours wins the prize for a quick trip in my book.
I trust you are travelling with a decent carrier and in some decent seats ;D what could possibly go wrong....

Leighla and myself out Wednesday morning Pompey-Caen. Borne upon a magic Rover 110, we will waft down in gentlemanly style, smoking a pipeful of something exceedingly mellow and aromatic. We have optics fitted in the rear lounge and some ice cold champagne so the journey should be very pleasant.
Back Monday from Le Havre feeling ill.
